Here's a quote from Ottke's Twin back in 2009. Shane was actually 38.... That's the same age Martinez would be if he were to fight Floyd anytime soon. Something tells me you're lying about potentially giving Floyd credit for beating Martinez. But that's just my personal opinion. You may very well do.

Chavez is a much better boxer and is bigger and faster than Macklin. He is disciplined as well. I didn't used to think Chavez had a chance but I think he would be an interesting match up vs Sergio. Sergio is basic. Chavez is a good body puncher as well.

I'd just be happy if it happened. Love to see all that speed in one ring.

Floyd don't want none of that. Funny he will fight cotto and oscar at 154 but wants martinez to come down to 150.

It's a fantastic fight to be made. Anyone who isn't a ******* or a huge Floyd hater realises this.

It won't happen, though. Floyd is too risk averse to make it happen (people often forget that he initially tried to get out of the Mosley fight by discrediting Mosley about his losses/PED use).

The thing about Sergio is - we can see the flaws he has that Floyd would be able to exploit. But he's also a southpaw who has a good chin and is knocking out JWWs/MWs.

The Costas interview makes me think no way does Floyd take this fight next.

If he does - huge credit from me (and I consider myself a hater).
Mayweather is a Master Boxer. Figuring out Martinez would be easy. He wouldn't fight Martinez NOT because he is scared to take a risk its because Sergio has no fan base. Its not fear. Mayweather was boxing when Martinez was barely being potty trained.

I think Macklin is better than people give him credit for. I had Sergio up 105-101 at the time of stoppage, had him winning 7 rounds to 4. He was on his way to a 115-110 win, a confortable UD. Yes, Macklin had the right game plan for the first 6-7 rounds, and he kept Sergio out of rhythm for the most part. But, Sergio was really opening up on him rounds 8-11, that made the difference in the score. I don't think Sergio has slown down like some people claim, he still looked fresh and quick, Macklin just had the right game plan to start the first half of the fight.

I do think Sergio had trouble getting shots on Macklin the first half of the fight, mostly due to Macklin's successful defense, something he's not known for, and smart attack. Macklin isn't all that fast but he times people well. I can't see Sergio penetrating Floyd's D, and Floyd is quick and can time someone better than almost anyone.

Floyd should jump all over fighting Sergio at 154. Or even fighting him a couple pounds above 154 for the Lineal Title at MW. He has the perfect style and combination of speed and timing to give Sergio trouble.

Secondly because they'll just say he looked average against Macklin and Barker and was never any good.

                    That's what people will say.

Repeat of the Shane fight. pac tards saying floyd will never fight shane. Pac turns down a fight with shane, who even offered a 144 pound catchweight and pac/roach still turn it down. Then Floyd fights him and Shane is now too old and shot even though 6 months prior he was "too good" by roach's own words.

pac tards the world over today say floyd never fights sergio, but the minute it gets signed, its sergio is old and shot.

“It's a disgrace what they (Pacquiao's camp) are asking,” Martinez said. “It would be better if they just said they didn't want to fight me, because they know I'll knock him out.

“I don't know when the last time was that Pacquaio took on one of the best pound-for-pound fighters,” Martinez said. “Marquez today is not the fighter he was five years ago"
