We all know who was responsible for the record being broken.

Men lie, women lie & numbers don't.

I'm going to go with both

I would say Oscar was responsible for the majority but not all. Obviously Mayweather played a part too.

It is both. But, more importantly the 24/7 promotional monster kicking off. The only fight that 24/7 failed in was Roy-Calzaghe. But, TBH even though the numbers were not good. it probably did that good cuz' of 24/7.

With Oscar being the name, with Floyd doing his best to promote the hell out of the fight. With 24/7 kicking off=Record breaking revenue.

Floyd couldn't do it with Oscar, Oscar couldn't do it without Floyd. And, I will guarantee that neither could do it without 24/7.

im surprised nobody has said it...not sure if because its a touchy subject but here goes...

before the de la hoya- mayweather fight... there was alot of racism going on and race riots in high school all over California.. blacks and mexicans were fighting each other but not only fights, im talking brawls... i remember in high school we would have to be on lock down because even cops had to come to school to control the situations....

during this time there was alot of gang violence in the streets of Los Angeles of hispanics vs blacks... luckily it has since toned down.... if you dont think racism played a huge role in the selling of this fight than youre dead wrong.. if im not mistaken, the intro to 24/7 started with "american swagger ( swag=black) meets mexican fortitude" ...

fast forward to the night of the fight, i worked a grocery store.. saw many mexicans "cholos" coming in buying beer pumped for the fight saying, " its mexicans vs blacks tonight".... needless to say i heard that from several customers that night... safe to say, during the time there was alot of racism, luckily its not like that anymore, but the fight was definitely impacted by that..

                      815,000-850,000 PPV buys.

Are we going to brag about anywhere from 75,000-125,000 more PPV buys?
