I agree with the TS. you can tell Mikey has been trained well. Very patience and great defense. He might not be all flashy and all that but he's got great skills nonetheless. It takes someone who knows boxing and has been in the ring a fews time before to appreciate his style

Caballero, though not as good as he use to be, is still a good fighter. He has skills but I don't see him beating Mikey at this stage. Garcia is just fresher.
Garcia has a good jab, good power, a pretty good defense it looks like, but sometimes he almost seems too basic. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a good fighter, and win a couple titles in a couple weight classes, but I don't think he'll beat the top guys around where he is. I don't see him beating Donaire, Gamboa, Broner, or Rigondeaux. He'll lose to someone with speed and superior skill.
I for one don't think MIkey is boring. He takes his time, feels you out, knows what he can do, and he opens up on you big eventually. He seems like he can win a round off jabbing alone and boxing you, as well as open up on you. That's a tough formula to beat. The only thing that bothers me about Mikey a bit is that people say Canelo at 21 or Broner at 22 are being protected, but Mikey is 24 and hasn't beaten anyone of note. I agree that Canelo is being protected from a Kirkland no doubt, or any of the Top SWW aside from himself. Broner isn't though. Broner at 21 went in there with Ponce De Leon and was pushed to the brink by a tough fighter. He also fought Litzau, who had just beaten Caballero, and has fought Eloy Perez, a Top 10 SFW and his mandatory opponent. Broner isn't "protected", Canelo is though. But I hope wee Mikey Garcia in there with a good opponent next. Someone like Rafael Marquez, Jhonny Gonzalez, Celestino Caballero, or Orlando Salido even.
Besides you don't see Mikey going around sporting a world title beating tomatoe cans or shot fighters like Canelo is doing.
Those other guys might be a bit faster, but that does not mean they are more skilled, not at all.

Well I couldn't disagree more. First things first, Garcia completely dominated Concepcion in a way I have never seen him dominated. He landed 3 significant punches that I counted throughout the entire fight, one was a hard shot.
Garcia's defense was superb, his patience and counters were on point. I heard people talking about they would like to see him go more to the body but that makes no sense to me and I will tell you why.
When you fight someone, you fight to your strengths and their weaknesses. Concepcion is asmaller guy, stocky and short and you know he wants to get inside. If the 1,2 is working, why change it? I mean, Garcia was landing the jab, right hand combo and mixed in the hook and it was working to perfection, why would he change it? If your opponent can't stop something, you keep doing it until he adjusts, Concepcion never adjusted.
The problem is, Garcia's style is not fan friendly to the average fan. Hardcore fans like myself LOVE his style. He's 24 yrs old, has the patience of someone 10 years older and is incredibly intelligent in the ring. He's got good power and he's a thinking man's boxer.
His style is going to be very difficult for anyone at 126lbs. I was very impressed with Garcia. He's well trained and I'm looking forward to seeing him in the future against the best at that weight class.

Sometimes you have to take risks to win.

The fight got booed in every single round, so as soon as somebody got a bit hurt, the ref stop it.
It was boring to watch, one thing is being patience, another is being boring. He was against a opponent who was there to be taken out!
Fire fight? Concepcion dont even throw punches anymore! Mickey could and should had step it up and throw more punches!!
Im not saying he is not good, cuz he is!! But he was boring as ****!
it's a complete JOKE.

fast feet with footwork
and head movement with defense
happens all the time
Garcia might just be the most technically gifted fighter at 126 right now

It's crazy how some fights suck live but are better on TV. I was at Cotto- Margs 2 and Wolak-Delvin 2 just seemed like nothing but I heard it was another ****er(not as good as first one obviously) on TV.
even the mexican commentators went off on garcia. you are fighting a c class fighter who no longer has a fighting spirit. step it up..............

The guy fights at his own pace, he doesn't play to the crowd and he beats the people who is supposed to, the way he wants to.
"But he didn't go to the body", What for, Concepcion couldn't stop the 1-2 to the face, if its working why stop.
what happens when he's in the ring with someone who can match him for shot for shot & out volume him? this is what people mean by him not being "special" he will be in the ring with many guys who will match him. he has shown me no special quality's that will allow him to over come this.
he's only impressive to some because of the level of comp he enjoys fighting.

I didn't see a problem with his performance.
I wasn't jumping out of my chair screaming I have to see him again either, but I didn't see a problem. He was ok.
