It's crazy how some fights suck live but are better on TV. I was at Cotto- Margs 2 and Wolak-Delvin 2 just seemed like nothing but I heard it was another ****er(not as good as first one obviously) on TV.
I guess ill download the fight, to see if it looks better on TV, because live it was boring as hell. The Gonzalez vs Herrera fight was something similar to Garcia-Concepcion, They got booed too lol!!

The sad part is most of these dudes are crying about the same nonsense, he dominates but he's boring.
The guy fights at his own pace, he doesn't play to the crowd and he beats the people who is supposed to, the way he wants to.
"But he didn't go to the body", What for, Concepcion couldn't stop the 1-2 to the face, if its working why stop.

Garcia handles everyone at FW probably, but Salido and Caballero would be tests. Salido would definitely push Mikey to open up more and force him to throw more often, but Salido is far too off balance when he throws most of the time, and would probably get floored by a counter from Mikey. Caballero, though not as good as he use to be, is still a good fighter. He has skills but I don't see him beating Mikey at this stage. Garcia is just fresher.
Garcia has a good jab, good power, a pretty good defense it looks like, but sometimes he almost seems too basic. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a good fighter, and win a couple titles in a couple weight classes, but I don't think he'll beat the top guys around where he is. I don't see him beating Donaire, Gamboa, Broner, or Rigondeaux. He'll lose to someone with speed and superior skill.
I for one don't think MIkey is boring. He takes his time, feels you out, knows what he can do, and he opens up on you big eventually. He seems like he can win a round off jabbing alone and boxing you, as well as open up on you. That's a tough formula to beat. The only thing that bothers me about Mikey a bit is that people say Canelo at 21 or Broner at 22 are being protected, but Mikey is 24 and hasn't beaten anyone of note. I agree that Canelo is being protected from a Kirkland no doubt, or any of the Top SWW aside from himself. Broner isn't though. Broner at 21 went in there with Ponce De Leon and was pushed to the brink by a tough fighter. He also fought Litzau, who had just beaten Caballero, and has fought Eloy Perez, a Top 10 SFW and his mandatory opponent. Broner isn't "protected", Canelo is though. But I hope wee Mikey Garcia in there with a good opponent next. Someone like Rafael Marquez, Jhonny Gonzalez, Celestino Caballero, or Orlando Salido even.Last edited by 4Corners; 03-14-2012, 10:02 AM.

It's like in football when fans want to see 41-38 scores and no defense. I like defense, I like counter punching because I recognize how hard it really is to pull off. It takes so much timing and patience.
It was the same way Manny Stewart was screaming for JMM to come forward against Pac in their last fight. Why would you tell him to do that and risk getting KO'd? I don't understand people's logic sometimes, I really don't.

It wasnt boring to me, but then this comes from a Calderon and Whitaker fan.
The only bad thing about his showing against Concepción is that his work rate might lead to opponents being able to catch a second wind in a fight with him.
If his power is as good as his record states, he might be unbeatable in this weight.

Sometimes you have to take risks to win.
