Roger was probably talking about Robinson's record in his prime and not when he got old and everybody beat him. Can you imagine Paul Pender beating a young Ray Robinson? Robinson's problem was that he didn't manage his money right and had to continue fighting because he was broke. During his heyday he was very flambonyant and spent money faster than he was making it. Robinson did 'lose' to Joey Maxim when he challenged him for the lightheavy weight title. I put lose in parenthesis because it wasn't Maxim who beat Robinson, it was the heat. Robinson was well ahead in that 15 round bout when he got weakened and drained by the 100+ degree heat in the ring. In fact the heat overwhelmed the referee and he had to be replaced after the 10th round. So anyway, imo if Robinson had gotten out of the game before he got old and lost his reflexes he might have only had lost the one fight to Lamotta. Two if you just gotta count the Maxim fight.

Freddie Steele started at 106 as a teenager and went all the way up to MW and won a title. Arguably a top 10 MW. One of the most underrated MW champions of all time. He shouldn't be nowhere near the top 20 P4P ATG.

Jimmy McLarnin fought Pancho Villa near the Flyweight limit. Went all the way up to WW. Beat better fighters than what Pac did. Also around the same size as Pac with height and reach. He is a borderline top 20. For sure should be ranked ahead of Pacquiao.

The self promoting Mayweather clan is so way out of line with this opinion that it's insulting.
Ray fought over 200 times and he fought EVERYONE!!!!
He was the personification of ring brilliance and grace.
He was a leader of men in and out of the ring.
Floyd is a product of the new generation of fighters, some of whom pursue cash before excellence or fan appreciation.
Floyd and Roger are second thoughts.
Ray is forever.

LISTEN, Floyd is not only behind Robinson, he's behind Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Arguello, Chavez, Pryor, on the All Time List. It's not about how many belts you collected. It's not about how much money you made. It's about WHO you fought and WHEN you fought them. Mayweather Klan always thinks they are the benchmark. Floyd only fought Oscar once in his prime, most felt Floyd was beaten, in fact Floyd declined $25M for a rematch, so what does that tell you. Floyd ducked Mosley and Cotto for more than 10 years while they were in their prime, only more recently, fighting them well past their primes, past them having engaged in too many brawls.... Floyd has ducked Pacquiao for three years, because Manny is too close to his prime. Floyd hand picked his every opponent to keep an undefeated record intact. Thoes LEGENDS I mentioned, they fought the BEST OF THE BEST, IN THEIR PRIMES, MULTIPLE TIMES, WIN, LOSE, OR DRAW. The money and the belts took care of themselves. It wasn't about a "manufactured" undefeated record. They were MEN. With BALLZ. They got it on. They were the epitome of a "SUPER-FIGHT"; each fight was an event. Floyd fought one dimensional, lead with your chin, smaller and older fighters, past their prime named Gatti, Hatton, Corralles, Mosley, Marquez...... really???? Leonard fought Hearns 3x. Leonard fought Duran 2x. Leonard retired fro 5 YEARS, then came back and fought Hagler, the baddest man on the planet. Hagler fougth Hearns in the greatest 3 rounds of Boxing in history. Hagler had brawls with major competition. Duran fought everyone they put in front of him. Arguello and Pryor fought two painful brawls. Even Oscar fought the Trinidads, the Quarteys, Bernard Hopkins, Mosley multiple times. Mosley fought much larger Hall of Famers in Vernon Forrest (2x), and Winky Wright. Don't tell me how great Floyd is, for avoiding risk, hand picking his opponents just as Roy Jones Jr. did.... what an insult.
