Second best of all time? Lolol...based on what exactly? We talking pure talent or opposition? Talent perhaps, as it's once in a generation, but opposition....GTFO.

Stop reading right there. Both of those weight-classes been around since the 1920's. Maybe even longer than that.

I wouldn't say hes the best of all time but hes certainly the best of this era unfortunately i think floyd will get beaten eventually even the best lose but at the moment i don't think there is anyone capable of doing anytime in the near future it it's okay though we have a ready made successor in Adrien Broner.

They tried to launch them in the 20s, but were not popular and by 1931 the were no more, only returning back again in the 1960s but needed quite a few years after that to gain recognition.

Finally someone that knows boxing and the history of the sport...FMJR, pacquiao are good fighters but they are business first.. SRR Ali Armstrong are old school throwback fighters that fought everyone and anyone and it's why fighters of the modern era can never be compared to those legends... If FMjr and pacquiao were anything near those men they would have fought each other 5 times by now

Oh , sorry, since you know more than Wikipedia, you should write to them and straighten out their errors and then give us the correct dates these weight classes came to be, thanks. I will look for your correction. thanks again.

Not true. Kid Chocolate had won the SFW title at 130 in 1931 and lost in 1933 to Frakie Klick. Sandy Saddler was also a champ in the late 40's.

Tony Canzoneri won the the 140 title on 1931. Regained it in 1933 lost it to Barney Ross had it till' 1935.

So you're wrong with saying by 1931 they were no more.

Ali and Robinson, either way would be good with me.

Ali, Robinson, Armstrong, Johnson, Louis, Leonard, Tunney, Pep, Greb, and Langford are the Top 10 GOAT, no order there of course.

Floyd is somewhere around the Top 30, and Roy is probably somewhere around the Top 35-40.

If it was pure skills, it'd be whole different conversation.

                      154 came in 1962 and 168 later

Robinson came from 147 to 160 he didn't have the privilege of the intermediate weight classes and its really not fair to judge by this.

So what is a fair way to judge fighters ?

Is it the undefeated record ? Sounds great !! Chavez Sr went like 80 fights without a loss, so he is way up there, and didn't SRR go over a hundred before his loss ? How bout the guy that went 49 fights with 43 KO's ?? NOBODY that I KNOW has come close to beating that RECORD, not V. Kliks, he has a couple of losses, the GREAT Rock Marciano had no losses !

Heavy weights can't go up a class can they , hahaha,

If we are judging by how many weight classes one has won a championship in then its a no brainer:

Manny Pacquiao is the WINNER ! The GREATEST of ALL TIME !!!!! But thats not fair as well.

Roger is WRONG and he don't know as much as he thinks he knows, he is naturally biased.

My main criteria would have to be coupled together with Did the fighter take on ALL COMERS ?

Taking on all comers and winning in grand style is very appealing.

The fighters in lets say Marciano's day may not have been as good as in ALI's day but what we can say without a doubt is that Rocky fought them all and did it without a loss and KO'd 43 out of 49.

Ali had fought the greatest fighters in my opinion over a long haul and with great style, he took on all comers, he ran from NO ONE, he ducked NO ONE, he sought out the very best and he fought them.

Pac has had many fights and with losses in the beginning but has NOT ducked anyone.

JR, Mayweather JR is a disappointment !! His style stinks up a fight, his skills are good but he refused to be tested in the Welterweight division by ducking PRIME ELITE WW's, back 4 years ago, Cotto, Williams, Margo.

Because he has ducked and refused to fight Pac, making excuses and unholy demands for three years to finally come to a last resort in the money aspect saying he gets all the ppv money and Pac gets none and that he is looking out for his health and putting the name Pac in the same sentence , self preservation and now to hear that Roger is placing JR second to SRR leads one to erase all doubt now about Roger:

The poor soul has gone luney tunes.

Personally I think Cassius Clay / Ali was the greatest fighter of all time.

He fought ALL GREAT COMERS, not a few, for years and won. He even won when he finally lost.

I don't know where Pac is in the mix but without a doubt Pac is way ahead of JR.

Poor ole Jr will carry the stigma that is too late to erase,,,TOO LATE,

He is the Main DUCKER in the counsel halls of Boxing eternal, he wins the prize as the man with skills but no heart to prove it continually, he has an undefeated record because he has cherry picked his way to where he is NOW.

                      He is Claim without substance

                      sad but true
He and PAC have something in common. They fought a lot of over the hill fighters with name recognition.
