I think we are growing soft too, too much comfort, even if you are poor (mantengo), the older generations worked harder, they were made of a tougher fiber, they didn't make excuses. If you fell, you got up, and tried again. Nowadays kids and teens are way too involved in videogames and other nonsense to care about athletics and other sports. It's not just boxing where we are declining, our baseball is declining, our basketball seems to have peaked as well etc...

We need to look to Cuba for the nearest quality trainers, with similar cultures. Hostos always said the Antilles were ike three sisters, we need the biggest one now or we're going to be stuck eating punches from our Mexican compadres for some time.
You must not watch a lot of puerto rican basketball then.

salido landed shots on lopez that would knock lesser quan****** out. for nine rounds and about 20 seconds.

lopez has the heart of a lion and showed a good chin. his problem is his defense. he gets hit literally right on the chin constantly.

It always does....boxingscene used to be a decent spot to post, now.....not so much. Been her since 2006 and ever since it changed I got banned for a while for saying "Mexican't" with a notice saying "leave nationality out of it...strike 1". If only they applied the same thing to all members..smh

Go out and do something than, stop putting pressure on your people. PR has over 18% poverty as well and no Communism like structure where people live to train in a sport or some other thing. Cuba is set up for that.

While I agree we lack in baseball, I think it has to do with lack of interest. We have a bunch of prospects in boxing and Dude, you sound like a poor excuse for a proud Rican. Maybe YOU stuck on video games but people I know are working and studying in P.R. Cotto already has a Cuban trainer. And just beat a Mexican. Mexicans get spanked all the time by Ricans, by KO! Put Dulorme in there now with any Mexican in his division. Elites come once a generation. Cotto is ours. Dulorme is next. Not our fault Cotto got derailed and slowed down by that ****ing cheater. Learn boxing and do some history on the sport, including basketball (we spank Cubans) before posting dumb stuff. Juanma losing like that has nothing to do with our country or trainers. Cotto's father was a trainer and a very hard worker. Great trainers are rare no matter where. This thread is racist, just like KEV, that soplabicho. Juanma and Cotto take punches. Look at black Danny Jacobs who got KO'd with one punch. And P. Will. Open your mind.
