I love boxingscene. Fighter A fights at a -2 lb catchweight, says he felt great and weight wasn't an issue....fans say he was a walking zombie. Fighter B struggles to make weight, looks like crap, loses then claims he was drained...he's a bum with an excuse.

I'm not one for excuses, but I'm sure there's some truth to this. I wouldn't mind a rematch. I got Sergio winning again though.

No, he didn't. He's been saying this for a long time.

If Pavlik had problems making weight for this fight, it was his own fault. He was boozing up until recently and you know he was doing it before this fight. It was his fault he showed up in camp at 195.

Fact of the matter is Pavlik was huge in that fight compared to martinez and had a huge power advantage. Nevertheless, his "knockdown" of Martinez was arguably a slip. Once Martinez got going, he beat the living piss out of Pavlik (which let's be honest, any good boxer with a nice defense will do).

No excuses Pavlik--the little guy kicked your ass. And, if you fought again, he'd likely do it again.

Martinez basically stopped fighting when Pavlik came "alive" and then as soon as he started fighting again, he tooled Pavlik. Cuts or not, Martinez was already commiting himself to blasting at pavlik with combinations shortly before the cut..then the other cut. Pavlik got cut because he was being hit too cleanly. Pavlik had a moment in the fight where it looked like this would end up close..but squandered that as soon as Martinez went into over drive. Pavlik doesn't have that extra gear..weight or not.
Late in a fight with a guy who's had stamina problems in the past, that's usually a sign that he could get stopped.

It's not a coincidence that the fight turned when he cut Pavlik.

And Pavlik always has had that overdrive while Martinez hasn't always had that overdrive.

he obviously had problems during camp, whether making the weight or boozing, but that's his problem, no one else's (not saying he is blaming other people). even if he had a good camp i still think he would've lost, maybe it would've been closer but who knows. for now, he just needs to rack up some wins before even thinking about rematching martinez at 160. not sure if we'll see him there, i think it'd be better for him to be at SMW but we'll see how it goes.
also, cecilio flores, pavlik's nutritionst, is martinez's nutritionist as well. if a rematch ever went down, i think he'd go with martinez. he trains at his brother's gym and has been close friends with him and his brother for years, doubt he'd pick pavlik over martinez. maybe he could do both, but that doesn't sound likely, who knows. either way, pavlik needs to fight and prove he's back before any rematches could possibly be talked about. good luck to him.

He says he weighed too much for Hopkins and was weak at 160 for Sergio but he wants a piece of Chavez Jr?
Oh brother. Kelly. You are not the same man who showed true grit in the 1st Taylor contest.
Any other fighter might have looked for a way out on that evening.
You have the respect of fans everywhere for that emotional performance.
But 160 after such inactivity and alcohol rehab that didn't stick?
                  Who's zoomin' who?
