Can you imagine how many titles fighters would have per weight if there were as many titles per division that there is today?
Any fighter from past to present, started at 106 could duplicate Pac accomplishments?

No he is a 2 division champion out of the original 8. Flyweight and Featherweight.
130 and 140 are not part of the original 8.
Henry Armstrong and Bob Fitzsimmons are 3 divisional champions of the original 8.

Well Pacquiao has never been the lineal champion at Lightweight or Welterweight. Unless you count paper titles which back then they didn't have. Which was IronDan original point.Comment

i never said he was...and the thread topic aint about lineal titles either...
even if it is , pac still holds the record....shoulda, coulda woulda reasoning is nothing to me but a damn fantsy...Comment

Again, IronDan point. If there was as many division and titles back then. Fighters would have had a much greater chance to accomplish "Pac amazing feat." Also one should take into account the same day weigh-in and day before weigh-in.
Anyways, McLarnin beat a top 3 ATG Flyweight, first Filipino great to great fighters at WW. Beat better fighters than Pac did. Give me that> Pacquiao accomplishments.
Freddie Steel started at 106 went to MW to win the MW title.
Give me Langford beat ATG LW Gans to beat HW Joe Jeanette>>>Pac accomplishmetns.
I will take Duran beating Marcel at 130 in 1971 going all the way to beat Jorge Castro at 198 in 1997. Just think about that for a second>>>anything Pacquiao has done.
No disrespect to Pac though, he is a great fighter. Not as great as some of his fans make him out to be though. And, his accomplishments aren't as big as his fans make it out to be either. Still damn good though.Last edited by Roman Moreno; 03-08-2012, 08:12 AM.Comment

Yes, but you said Pac was a 4 weight champion in the original 8 and that no one else had done that, implying that even those who fought in that time period couldn't do it, and that's just untrue. They only had one title per division, and going on Pac's accomplishments, he would have only won two titles.
Pac does still hold the 'official' record, and yes, it is basically a fantasy thread, but that is the point of the thread, which you came into to answer don't forget, and while it might be fantasy as such, it is also based on what would have happened back then because of what he's done today. He has only won two titles in the original 8, which is less compared to some fighters from back then.Last edited by BennyST; 03-08-2012, 08:15 AM.Comment
