This. . . Cotto @ 154 isn't the fighter he is @ 147. . . The only reason Cotto moved to 154 was for: 1.) promotional reasons - fighters will change weightclasses and get new trainers after losses. 2.) He doesn't have to diet while training, or dry out any to make weight (95% of boxers diet and dehydrate before a weigh-in). . .
A slower and fatter Cotto is easier for FLoyd to potshot and tenderize.
He thinks he can stop Cotto, this much is clear from this statement. Still, kind of ballsy...in some weird..freaky Floyd like way. I can't even say that for 100% because he always has an agenda in everything. Damn him. He's like a super boxing villain...
I'm still LOL'ing x 1000 @ Mayweather having to put his foot in his mouth about "leftovers". . Which is the ******est facking concept I've ever heard. . . .
I don't understand the loose comment by Idec that Mayweather doesn't want to fight Cotto "between 147 and 154 lbs" because that's exactly what they will be doing. The fight weight limit is 154 lbs. and they can come in at any weight they want to under 154 lbs. one ounce.
Unless the contract called for a lower weight limitation also, which would be unique, and perhaps not sanctioned by the WBA.
How dare Floyd demand 8 ounce gloves... what a coward. Floyd needs to be a true champion and put a rehydration clause on Cotto. He's also coward by demanding smaller gloves and no catchweight.
Smaller gloves mean they won't fit Cotto and that means Cotto can't win. Not fare, Floyd sucks.
