Has Floyd done enough to be considered up there alongside Ali and SRR?

    Yeah just like Shane Mosley.

Shall we return to the winky thread in the history section?
I didn't say everyone is scared of Mayweather. And I didn't say Mayweather did everything in his might to make fights happen.

But you're acting like all of those fights were available to him, they weren't.

Well, he damn sure showed more interest in fighting Mosley than Mosley did fighting him. Mosley wanted nothing to do with Mayweather until 2009 onward.

As for Winky Wright, I just honesty find genuine humour in your critique for Mayweather whilst in the same breath claiming Winky Wright is some sort of throwback, "I'll fight anyone, any place, anytime" kind of fighter.

He's going back to 147? He's only going to fight Pac? Sergio don't know **** about boxsin'
Look dude if you wanna bash floyd go ahead. Floyd was once the lil guy. Some of the prime greats who he challenged during their primes for whatever reasons refused when floyd challenged them. In particular was Shane Mosley, a guy who we all agree had a better chance to beat floyd had he fought him when he was prime.

As for Sergio, like I said if floyd were calling out JMM under the same scenario you'd laugh at floyd.

How old is Martinez? 37, right?

He'll be atleast 38 by the time they fight (If they were to fight) and I imagine that's at the very least.

How old was Mosley when Mayweather fought him? 38.

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that if Mayweather were to fight and dominate Martinez then the fight would be shot down.

          In late 09, the Mosley fight was ;

"Finally a chance for Mayweather to prove himself against a real Welterweight"

"Mayweather is ducking Mosley - "We play Basketball together". He's scared"

Everyone agreed with RA The Rugged Man that Mayweather is scared of Mosley and should fight Mosley. Did they not?

Low and behold, after the fight, couple years later, it's a different tune.

I have no doubt in my mind the same thing will happen with Martinez.

Yeah thats the standard around this board. Fighter A is great so long as floyd doesn't fight him then sucks or is shot after floyd dominates him. ANything to knock floyd down a peg.

I'm not even trying to bash Floyd. Floyd is actually my favorite boxer to watch; I just don't think he is the GOAT, that is all.

It wouldn't be the same if Floyd was calling out JMM. If it were, Floyd would be calling at JMM for a fight at 140, and JMM would have already won a title at 140. Which neither is the case, so your point is invalid. Floyd is going for his second title at 154, which is where Sergio wants to fight him, at a division which some would argue is Sergio's "natural weight"

How is that the same? He's not calling him up to 160 and he's not asking him to skip a division he never fought in.

Like I said I like Floyd, I think he beats Sergio. I just want to see the fight happen. Why are you trying to make an excuse for him? You don't want to see Floyd fight Sergio?

After Cotto, if not Pac or Sergio, who should he fight then?

Sergio the mw champ, is calling out floyd [and manny 2] weight classes beneath him, at 154 the weight in between. If floyd did the same thing, which for example would be if he called out JMM, who is 2 classes beneath him (135) for a fight at 140 (in between) you'd laugh.

Bottom line is you don't call out a guy 2 classes beneath you.

I didnt say winky was that in this thread, I said he managed to fight better comp than floyd. Not sure where you picked that up. Winky became everything he despised and was a horrible businessman. He fought better comp than floyd though and took more chances.

LMAO, Floyd won a ****ing world title at the division Sergio is calling him out at. JMM didn't do **** at 140.

You don't want to see Floyd vs Sergio at 154, that isn't a legit fight?

If Floyd was the one calling out Sergio then that makes it OK?

Floyd is just a couple of fights away from taking the claim of greatest of all time.
