Floyd is right. And you should be mad at the media. If Lin isn't Tiawanese its not that big a deal. if Lin was white and from Harvard this wouldn't be as big. There have been Ivy league players in the league, but very few of Asian descent.
The fact that the mainstream (read: white) media finds it impossible that a Harvard educated Tiawanese AMerican could make it in the NBA and reports the story as such is the real problem here.
I think the whole jumpoff point of his asian-ness is because he's the first american born asian.
Also Lin went undrafted, summer league and came up from the D league like last month.
Yo, I swear though... sometimes on espn, i see them bringing up the weirdest records that somebody broke. Sometimes I think they do it just so it looks cool what a person did.

How is Floyd mostly right when he claims that the sole reason for Lin's fame is his Asian heritage? That's simply untrue. Sure, his heritage may add novelty to an already compelling story, but you often see other athletes receive similar kind of attention. Just look at the attention Venus Williams received when she came on to the scene (a black chick from the hood excelling at a mostly white upperclass sport). Hell, even the Jamaican bobsled team are household names and they suck balls. lol
