a lot of hes fights are pretty one-sided after 4-5 rounds and he tends to drag them on longer than they should have.

thats how i feel anyway. i also dont blame him for that

btw im press sure this thread been made a few times. you should try using the search functions

People who find Floyd's fight boring are entitle to their opinion, but I doubt that they've actually watched all of his fights, especially his earlier bouts when he was at 130-140. Sure Floyd has put up some stinkers throughout his career but so have a lot of other elite fighters. Pacquiao-Mosley is a recent example and Pacquiao is the most exciting fighter of this era. And no, that's not a slight against Pacman.

I mean, it takes two to tango and you cannot always blame Mayweather for completely shutting down his opponents and making them look ordinary. But again, he's been in a lot of entertaining fights, some of which even got #1 Floyd hater Larry Merchant to stand up and cheer. All of his fights are on Youtube so people have no excuse to not look em up and gain a better appreciation of Floyd's style.

These are all entertaining, albeit not really competitive, fights:

        vs Jesus Chavez
        vs N'dou
        vs Corley
        vs Gatti
        vs Corales
        vs Burton
        vs Catillo 1
        vs DLH
        vs Ortiz
        vs Hatton
        vs Hernandez

It's shocking, that a lot of the, so called boxing fans, constantly say "Mayweather's boring to watch".

I mean, personally, I think he makes boxing look beautiful.

Is a KO all they want to see?

Nothing more spectacular than a perfectly timed counter imo.
Because he dominates fights and he hardly gets hit. I can understand where some of this stuff was coming from. He had some of his opponents hurt and didn't risk going for the knockout. That's what most people say. Others who say he's boring are people who have short attention spans. I think he has sat back and heard what was being said and decided to revamp his style. People criticized the boxing and moving. Now he's making it a point to let everyone know that he's not going to be doing that. I just watched Chavez-Rubio. There was no boxing and moving, no holding, and just inside fighting. 12 rounds of that gets boring to me. I didn't understand why Rubio didn't tie him up on the inside to allow some room for him to land his shots at the distance he needed to land them to do damage. I'd prefer to watch an intelligent fighter with skills (which some classify as boring), than to watch brutes just rub sweaty chests together all night.

When Floyd fights I already know it's going to be a 12 Rd UD. There's no surprise in the fight. When Tyson was in his prime the question is "what round is he going to knockout his opponent?". Who would you rather watch fight live? Floyd Mayweather Jr. Or a Prime Mike Tyson? Knockouts = excitement

People like to see violence and blood but don't realize that boxing is more than just a blood sport. It involves strategy like a chess a match, its more than just a strongman competition to see who can out muscle his opponent or who can eat the most punches without going down. If you can't see and understand the intricacies of that, then you don't know what boxing is and more than likely enjoy a brawl over a chess match.

The beauty of boxing all in this thread. I love both styles but, Mayweather is extraordinary. If you watch Floyd vs Zab you would hear a line by Larry that you wont ever hear from him again. He said Floyd can "Out punch you he can out box you and out brawl you." I like versatility and i find it wierd after May left arum all his praise went out the window.

I have watched Mayweather-Marquez almost 3 times now.
The way Mayweather shuts his opponents down is a thing of beauty.

I have to agree that some Mayweather fights are boring but for the most part each performance is a timeless work of art that only real boxing fans can truly appreciate.

not everyone enjoys their buddah rubbed the same way.
