What does being a main event fighter have to do with anything? I dont think he ever stated he has to be main event. If he got the Sergio fight, then yeh it would naturally be the main event. But he's willing to fight Lara on HBO which probably wouldnt be a main event.

Well Macklin got his fight with Sergio because of his great performance against Sturm in Germany. I do agree that to make a name you can fight at other places other than the United States, but for that you have to fight A LOT of opponents.

doesnt matter, the euro mws aint gonna fight him in russia either. unless ur talking about golovkin. the point is, hes not gonna get on hbo or showtime fighting in russia, its not gonna happen. he doesnt have the muscle and he doesnt have the fanbase. he needs to fight on american tv. or at least on primetime or one of the uk networks.

Macklin smashed the consensus #2 middleweight. Pirog hasn't beaten a guy near the top 10. Sergei D had something like 9 title defenses and was considered a really good opponent right up until Martinez crushed him. I won't argue Barker, because really Pirog and Barker had about the same resume.
