Floyd is fighting a better version IMO. Whats both sides of fans need to understand is

145 catchweight Pac vs Cotto = Pointless
147 Pac vs Cotto = Pointless Cotto too weight drained
147 Floyd vs Cotto= Pointless Cotto too weight drained
154 Cotto vs Pac = Great fight
154 Cotto vs Floyd = Great fight

Pac was only willing to fight Cotto at a weight drained limited of 147. If Floyd was demanding the same it would be equally as pointless but Floyds fighting him at 154 which is a good fight. He derserves props just as Pac would have got if he manned up and fought Cotto at a realistic weight.

I can agree however, cotto is not mentally beaten like he was coming off the margarito loss where he quit. Physically, cotto is still the same fighter that mayweather or PAC beats at any weight.

The Cotto who will be fighting Mayweather focuses more on boxing smartly.

I think the Cotto who will be fighting Mayweather has the edge though, because it's gonna be at 154 and not 145. The jump to 154 is unnatural for May and Pac whereas Cotto grew into it, and probably was drained for the Pac fight.
Another Floydiot! He was dismantled by Manny yet you think he's a better version today. Don't fall too much with your BF.

If anonehas the audacity to say this cotto floyd is fighting is better than the cotto Pac thought. I will say the Cotto Pac beat is better than the cotto Margarito beat.
Not to mention the Hatton that Pac beat was by far superior to the version Floyd beat. Do you also want me to mention DLH and Pac as well?

But he is definitely physically inferior.
                      very well said...

but to engage floyd on a cerebral fight is not to cotto's advantage...as floyd is a very inteligent boxer....

the cotto that pressured pac for the first two rounds will do better against floyd...specially if cotto could sustain exerting that kind of pressure for another 6 rounds....
