I would prefer Martinez-Mayweather at 154, but this is a decent fight. Better then the Canelo fight that's for sure.

Cotto should understand fought Margarito at catchweight even though he was the Champion in that division... Kind of wack if you're not moving up in weight to ask for a catchweight to defend your own title... Manny has NEVER down that he was moving up to fight Cotto... If Manny's people called Cotto and says Manny wants to fight at 147 and Cotto feels he can't make that weight anymore that should be the end of the discussion on Cotto's part. Here's a hint if a guy has a fight at 150 and weighs in at 144.5 and says after the fight I can't fight at that weight it's too much... Why can't anyone understand that Manny Fan or Manny Hater.... I understood why Marquez didn't want to fight Manny at 147 and I understand why Floyd said he'll fight Cotto at 154 but yet wants Martinez to come down to 150... I just don't understand why people can't push their hate aside and say hey the last time Manny had a fight at 150 he came in at 144.5 so maybe he shouldn't fight above 147 since he can't even come in at a fight at 150 above 145... Manny is 147 pound fighter and Cotto is a 154 pounder or whatever catchweight he got Margarito to agree to and that's that...... No need to hate on either fighter, Cotto just outgrew 147 and Pac is to small to go above 147... End of negotiations... The other guys can still fight at or below 147 so Pac will move on and so will Cotto but there is nothing wrong with Pac asking Cotto could he still make 147 and Cotto asking even though you came in at 144.5 for your last 150 pound fight and you said you won't do it again, would you consider changing your mind????

It's simple. Cotto would make it a long night for both guys. Cotto knows that he has arum by the scrotum and will not bend like he did before. Good for him. For those people that are blind and spew all this Pac can beat King Kong nonsense, let it be. If they agree to fight at 150, then let Pac batter Cotto around again. What if that is not what takes place, instead Pac sees himself in a life or death struggle? What will the excuses be then? Oh, Cotto was too big. Pac was distracted with Politics.. etc.. For those that say they won't pay for the fight, then so be it. You can miss out if you want. The promotional twist on this will be so clever, that it will make casual fans break out the CC quick. Many good points for both sides of the fence have been stated and the bottom line is; Arum wants Cotto to hang around a bit and the fact that Cotto has left everything open (promoter wise) gives him enough leverage to not let Arum push him around. Arum wouldn't want the 2nd best payday to hop on over to GBP/Mayweather side. So there will either be a boatload more of money thrown Cotto's way or they will allow the 150 catch weight. If Cotto beats Manny, that will propel him to be the front runner to face Floyd. Cotto will cash out twice.
If Cotto fights Floyd at 150 or above, as I stated before, I give Cotto a good chance of beating Floyd. For those of you delusional enough to believe that Floyd will KO cotto, need to puff puff pass that good stuff you are smoking. When was the last time that Floyd KO'd someone? Sharmba in '05? Hatton doesn't count, turnbuckles aren't fists or gloves and Ortiz doesn't count for obvious reasons. How will Floyd keep Cotto off of him? Goodluck with the pot shotting to a UD theory. I am quite sure Cotto will take the fight to Floyd after feeling out his speed and timing him for the first couple of rounds.
Cotto deserves either fight either way.

to anyone who says that pacquiao won't fight cotto at 150 or above because he was hurt by margarito in their fight, i have 2 points to make:
1) margarito came in 17 pounds heavier than pacquiao on the night. cotto has no chance whatsoever of doing that.
2) so what if margarito hurt him?....that's what happens when you get hit by someone??.....saying that he can get hurt when they fight at 150 isn't an excuse in my book, because you can get hurt by anyone who lands cleanly...
