Smart people, making smart decisions, that is how the world should be.

I don't particularly want to see this fight any longer. I think pacquiao should retire. His style and the brawls he's been in have aged him in the ring. And, when you win through through superior athleticism not technique, when that fades you are in trouble (ask roy jones).

That being said, it was beginning to be clear that floyd really wanted this fight. He'd called pacquiao out, etc. Granted, his selecting a date and location without pacqiao's input was counterproductive because it all but insured that the fight would be harder to make (nobody in pacquiao's position wants those terms dictated to them or, worse yet, to have the public believe that).

Then arum's new excuse every week. Mayweather looked like he was driving the fight and arum was doing all he could to stop it.

Now this. Floyd knew getting more than 50/50 was a nonstarter. To demand it now looks like an excuse to not fight. It is the old story--the easiest way for a fighter to dodge a fight is to price themselves out of it. If floyd had said when he called pacquiao out that i need to get 60 percent, everybody would have scoffed at him and said he's just posturing. To do it now is just idiocy if he wants this fight. It guarantees (if he's serious) that this fight never occurs.

I don't know why he did this. The choices are: he doesn't want the fight; or he's an idiot. I'm beginningbto believe that neither he or pacquiao want the fight. Why would they? They can make 30 or 40 million taking no or low risk fights. Two of those fights equals more than the payday here and they don't have to take real risk. A pox on both of their houses.

These are the same clowns that were saying Mayweather would still be scared and duck the guy... here they are now.... crying and complaining about it. The guy himself stated that he'd take a smaller purse. Mayweather called his bluff and now it's a problem.

The same way Mayweather called his bluff about cutoff dates and came off of his single request to make the fight and the guy still ran.
That's the thing..... this has not played out yet.

Mayweather called Pac out TWICE on issues that have played out, the OSDT's and the money..... let's wait until this plays out because the issue is still the date, not the split.

If they agree to the split, the fight will not happen because they will not agree on the date..... and because this has not yet played out it is possible (even highly likely) that this is just leverage on the date.

The split is likely Mayweather's only leverage on the date, we will know in the next few days.

Mayweather called out Pac twice, the score is 2-0 to Mayweather.

But if the split issue is not leverage, then Mayweather just ***ed up big time.

We need to wait and see.

                    • The bottom line is still.....

If Team Pacquiao really wanted that fight like they have claimed over the last two years, then they would have agreed to May 5th.

May 5th is the VERY BEST date for that fight, and the MGM is likely the VERY BEST venue.

Especially considering that Manny said..... "making the fight is more important than the money".

But Mayweather needs to publicly address this, or publicly state that he is willing to accept 50/50 if Pacquiao will fight on May 5th..... or else he is starting to look like a b1tch, just like he made Team Pacquiao look over the last 2 weeks..... the ball is in his court.
