He has the ability weapons to beat any of those opponents and a trainer who seems to know the importance of a good game plan for him. Just depends if he can execute.

To me his best options would be in this order:

Alvarez: Get the kid before he likely gets much better and while he is a huge attraction. Personally i think this is an easy fight for him. Alvarez has seen nothing close to Cottos level and probably never faced anyone that punches as hard as Cotto.

Chavez: At 157 this fight would again be a huge box office fight and one that Cotto could likely easily outbox jr on.

Mayweather: I think Mayweather may not be the same fighter post jail. I see him trying to get his life together, taking a year off then realizing he needs money. Cotto has two weapons that I think Money may be susceptible to: a damaging jab and body punching.

Pac: All I can say about this fight is Cotto has a much better shot with a trainer and above welterweight.

All other opponents do not offer enough green to get Cotto in the ring and that includes Sergio. Sergio needs to stop crying and fight his way to the top.

I would have considered you a true boxing fan if the bolded statement wasn't there. Come on homie, stop that PEDs bullcrap.

Ray Margarito isnt the fighter he was but the style he has and the pressure he brings is all wrong for Miguel but Cotto won every round and even if u feel it was gonna get rougher down the stretch there was NO indication that a stoppage win for Margarito was on the cards and he ws too far behind on the cards to have a prayer.

Cotto is vulnerable its part of the reason i like him. If he fights top young guys in Kirkland or Alvarez name ur bet and we are good to go...

They have a shot sure, like i just said Cotto is vulnerable past his best and they are both top young fighters but im banking on Miguel's top flight experience and the jab to get him the wins, he still has something left and will be back to full confidence having finally erased the ghosts of the Margarito fight

I am guessing that Bradley will fight Marquez and Pacquiao will fight Cotto. Just a guess.

Am down with a bet if he fights Canelo, Kirkland am not too sure because Kirkland might get KO himself while trying to bum-rush Cotto but even now i see Canelo beating him, Cotto for me WAS not impressive against Margarito, Mentally i think he definitely impress me in that fight but the actual fight itself wasnt an impressive performance, He had Margarito's eye close and was still running and jogging backwards? Nah!!! I like Cotto because he epitomise the fighters of back in the days, Fighters who just fight without looking for advantages before they step in the ring with you but for me he doesnt have much left.

Well i must admit i prefer the Alvarez fight sooner rather than later before Young Saul gets any better, i rate him. I though there was a few things Miguel could have done better but id have instructed him to stick with the plan and not try to put it on Tony despite the eye injury, Margarito has one hell of a chin and Cotto while a good puncher isnt a MASSIVE hitter at 154, it would have given Tony his only chance because he wasnt winning the boxing match.

I Hope your wrong and I think Miguel has some fire in the tank still but i guess only time will tell

Cotto better stay far away from that work....not a good match up for Cotto imo....a dream fight for Kirkland...again imo!!

Martinez doesnt bring what the fighters mentioned bring to the table financially. I dont care and im sure you dont either but in reality 99% of these fighters are about their money and since boxing is their job I dont blame them.
