Why not just say you got injured in training camp and pull out?

Why go out there and fight to WIN? Either pull out of the fight, or throw the fight.. he didnt do either..
He didn't purposely smashed by anyone and while that punch was legit, I definitely think he over exaggerated and just took the events that happened in that fight and ran with it.

As for why he would sacrifice two years of his prime.....well many fighters throughout the history of the sport have done this for various reasons.

And, you're going to take NO paydays for two years because you were being offered slightly less for one fight?

      I mean, what?

If he wanted out of the tournament why fight balls to the wall against AA? Why not just throw the fight?
No he could not. Showtimes Ken Hershman made him persona non-grata. Well maybe he could on a minor network, but that would probably have been difficult.

He didnt have to stay on showtime... Theres a lot of reaching and "I think.." & "probably because" going on around here.

Frankly, none of us are doctors. I know I've said that I thought other fighters were faking in the past during fouls as well. It's completely understandable where this is coming from though.

Just, in my personal opinion, seeing Abraham KO dudes and seeing how hard he hits, I don't think Dirrel was faking.
To my knowledge Dirrell did not disclose any medical papers at all from this serious injury. Odd isn't it? I mean when you are questioned and under heavy su****ion surely youød do what you can to redeem yourself in the public eye wouldn't you?

Take Kessler for example. He had a camara crew with him when he visited german eye specialists and on the follow-up examinations performed by danish eye specialist.

          From Dirrell we got nothing.

Didn't they have a doctor in the locker room after the Dirrel vs AA fight who gave Dirrel some sort of bad diagnosis?

I thought Showtime's camera crew followed Dirrel to the hospital where it's on camera that the doctor's said he had some kind of brain injury from the cat scan?

See for yourself, because I remember seeing this on t.v. But according to some, they'll probably say that was some form of conspiracy.

You think HBO would gamble on on him fresh off a brain injury? Not to mention the Stevens fiasco. Sure he could have fought on ESPN, and in fact wasn't he supposed to fight on FNF in Canada this summer? He could well have decided the meager money was not worth the hit in reputation. You better believe SHO would keep him blacklisted had he taken a fight 8 months after dropping out with neuro issues. As it is, he's on SHO first thing after the tournament finished.

He went to the hospital and was released 2-3 hours later with a concussion. I remember that as well. Sauerland, on behalf of Arthur Abraham asked for a post fight doping test, but didn't get it.

Since then we only heard about Dr. Shaw-High.

you do realize that's one of the most aggravating things in the sport to have a promoter you have little to do with actually have their hands on your paycheck? Banner Promotions did it with Chico and it killed his take home pay

so while we can debate Pavlik (1.3 was more than fair for a comebacking substance abusing ex middle) and Kessler (750k plus upside) the Cloud debate is over

anyone else Bute ducked we can debunk for you?
Here we are like an hour later, I guess that's a no go on the link?

Are you going to show us a link on DKP having a reason dubunking why the Bute vs Cloud fight didn't happen?

I think Dirrell is still trying to remember the name of his Dr.

Yeah but the topic is whether or not Dirrel had any neurological damage confirmed by doctors. I'm willing to bet he did from what I remember seeing on video.
