        They are already paying Bute 2m Per fight. They likely wont pay that much more.

          We don't know if that is true or not. Maybe Bute made a joke of an offer which Kessler declined.

          Or perhaps Bute really did make a good offer but Kessler was afraid of losing his emeritus status to him. And thus opted for a more winnable fight with Stieglitz instead, for less money.
