Bute and Bedard said they would go to Oakland. Once that was established it was up to Ward and his Team to make an offer. Not Bute's camp!

If Bute made Ward a serious offer for a fight in Oakland he would be fighting Ward. However, as always, Bute didn't make an offer he just said he'd be willing to go to Oakland because that's what he always does. He knows when he says bull**** lies that there are a lot of ****** boxing fans who hate Americans who will believe anything he says.
he's not supposed to make an offer, Ward and his team are supposed to make it

LOL at some of you that are so blind raged against Bute you forget your boxing knowledge

Bute can say he is willing to go to Oakland until he is blue in the face. If he doesn't make a proposal to Ward in writing (which he certainly did not), then there is no reason to take him seriously.
Hmmm.... Bute cannot make an offer for an Oakland fight. That would have to come from Wards promotor Goosen. I don't know if he told Bute hé wasnt interested at all but I Think hé said he wasnt looking at Bute ATM.

That being Said Bute was extremely quick in announcing that a deal for 2 fights with Froch was very close.

wait a minute.........so bute & bedard said they would go to oakland, all WHILE NEGOTIATING WITH TEAM FROCH DESPERATELY TRYING TO GET HIM IN CANADA?

why would you claim you'd go to oakland while doing your best to secure froch in canada???????? remember, team bute said that the froch deal was practically already done the day the super six ended. that shows you that they were NEVER serious about fighting ward in oakland. after the super six their whole objective was to get froch in canada........

team bute have fooled you (although it wouldn't be hard because you're a insecure NERD with a inferiority complex for americans haha!!)

the only reason why team bute want froch in canada first because they think bute will knock out froch thus there will be no need for a 2nd fight in the u.k.

this is what their banking on.

            TEAM BUTE = EXPOSED

yeah and if they they fight tboth promoters should pay a matchmaking fee to Ward. How much do matchmakers make these days? 10% on both fighters?

                Now you're talking boxing. Bravo.

I don't think like a regular fan. To me, it is obvious that all sides spoke way before the final and they all knew what was going to happen next they just chose to keep it confidential until after a winner was declared. Not sure if they had different scenarios according to the winner, but I digress.

Ward wants no part of Bute right now. Ward can't fight until probably summertime anyways due to the hand, so I think (or I chooses to believe) that Ward just backed out to take a rest, and that he's ready for the winner.

Only thing that puts a bit of a wrench in my thinking is that Froch/Bute are apparently looking at a 2 fight deal. Where does that leave Andre?

That's where your comment of KOing Froch early takes place. Maybe Ward knows Bute will KO Froch? Don't forget, clauses like that are always contingent and only triggered if Showtime or HBO pay a minimum of $X for the rematch.

Oh yeah, there's another scenario for Ward.. a multi million euros rematch with Kessler in the summer.

Maybe Sauerland already agreed to all this. Who knows, right?

My guess is that Bute wasnt really interested in Ward and the disinterest was mutual. There's probably better economics (and better odds on a win) in a Froch deal.

Its probably the same reasoning for Ward. A Bute fight presents a High risk and likely will not generate adequate revenue in jOakland. No way Ward goes to Canada. So Ward will probably take a gimme fight next. Could be a mando against Dirrell. After that hé could take a Big money fight in Copenhagen against Kessler to obligate Kesslers emeritus tag. Thats assuming Kessler beats Stieglitz for the WBO belt of course.

Providing this scenario happens we could end up with a fight in late 2012 for the undisputed title.

I see it another way, a much more complex one LOL

If your career hinges on Dec 17th then why would your team wait until Dec 18th to plan out the future?

The way i see it Froch knew he would lose to Ward. That's why he irritated Bute up until fight night. Froch was presented with 2 scenarios: Fight Ward, then fight Bute or Kessler.

OK so I'm Carl Froch....there's no way I'm fighting Ward, knowing I will lose, without my next fight being a victory.

Can I get that victory against Kessler? Probably not. So if Kessler is next I am NOT fighting Ward.

OH WAIT....So I fight Ward and then I get Bute, the unexperienced hype job from Canada? Yeah, I can beat him.

Where is Ward? Wash him and bring him to me...
