Why does Ward wanna fight a guy he already dominated in Kessler instead of getting it on with Bute to eliminate the doubt of who is better between the two? Bute stated clearly that he wanted to travel to Oakland. I've given the dude a lot of stick in the past. But he is not in the wrong at all if this fight doesn't happen. The ball is in Ward's court it would seem like to me.

That is 100% false.

Bute's team has repeatedly stated that they want a Ward fight in New York as it would make Bute the home fighter with the easy drive from Montreal to NYC.

If Bute has at any point said he would go to Oakland there was no substance to it. He always says he is willing to travel yet he has never done it.

Don't you think if Bute was serious about fighting Ward in Oakland that they would draft a proposal and send it to Ward instead of saying "Well looks like Ward doesn't want a fight!" ?

And don't you think if Ward received a fighter contract from Bute with the location being in Oakland that he would at the very least strongly consider taking the fight right away?

Lucian Bute talks and talks and talks about taking tough fights, but never signs on the dotted line. In fact he never even makes serious offers. Andre Ward on the other hand, doesn't talk about what he is going to do, he just does it.

The fact that so many posters who should know better are buying into this Lucian Bute bull**** really amazes me.

The only reason for it has to be a bias or hatred towards Ward, because Bute is full of **** and always has been.

There is no doubt and there shouldn't be any doubt as to who is better. Bute can't just leap frog into a Ward match up when he hasn't done anything, Andre Ward just came out of a very tough tournament. I say Bute fights Froch, Kessler-Stieglitz winner or Dirrell...in short fucking fight someone good. The best fighter Bute has faced is Johnson, and he looked far from impressive in that fight.

Abraham and and Green are not relevant at 168 and Bika got beaten more decisively by Bute. Ward gets credit for Kessler and Froch but he fought them 2 years apart so there is no need for Ward to feast on more bums before facing Bute.

Btw Bute only fought bums because he wasn't invited to the tournament; but he has tried to fight the 3 relevant fighters from that tournament in Kessler,Ward, and Froch. Kessler and Ward ducked and Froch seems the only one to be game.

Im not too sold on ward yet mainly because hes been fighting PLODDERS .

It's the champs job is to defend the championship against the best available contender and right now that is Bute not Froch. The best against the best, that's what boxing should be about.
