Did you read what I wrote?

I said "I heard" = rumor; that Bute didn't accept a tourny invite... I'm not saying this took place which is why I said I never read an article regarding this.

To the best of my knowledge, you're right, he was never invited. But a few people in this thread did say that he was invited, which is why I said "heard".

Unless the money is right Bute should have to prove himself by having to beat Froch or Dirrell.
Dr Shaw High won't allow it

It's as simple as this : nobody is more deserving than Bute.

Ward and his fans would rather he fight Anthony Dirrell and other nobodies? If the IBF Champion since 2007 with 9 title defenses doesn't deserve it nobody does. Real reason is because Bute is the best fighter in the division he hasn't faced and losing is a possibility.

But the fact still remains that Bute struggled with Andrade when the tourny was being made. Bute's credibility at the time took a few hits compared to the guys that were in the tourny.

But if anything, I don't believe Taylor should've been in the tourny. He should've retired before the tourny took place. Maybe you're right. Bute should've taken Taylor's spot.

But I also heard that Bute turned down a slot in the tourny. I haven't seen any articles about this though.
there have been conflicting reports on the matter, I'll give you that

Besides Bute, who can Ward fight that would make him more money? He won't fight Hopkins or Direlle. Bad business move if he don't fight Bute.

Bute already showed interest in the fight...what's the problem?

You could also say "you heard" that ***** sucks **** for money. Keep perpetuating lies.

              Proof > b.s. slander.

"Bute, 30, fought two fights in a row on Showtime, in late 2008 and early 2009, but he was not invited to join the Super Six when Hershman put it together in July 2009. Hershman said his exclusion was nothing against Bute. He said the tournament was very difficult to put together and "the only way to get five promoters and six fighters on the same page was within the existing relationships I had. It wasn't that I didn't think [Bute and Bedard] were worthy or trustworthy. I just didn't have the depth of the relationship I had with the others."

Bedard and Bute were disappointed that Showtime left him out, but that's in the past, they said.

"We were surprised because Lucian was IBF champion and one of the best fighters in the division," Bedard said. "We understand the reason. The problem was all the guys we were dreaming to fight were with Showtime. But at the end of the day, Lucian is more popular without being in the Super Six because everyone was speaking about him and asking why wasn't he in."

Nah, he was badly hurt by Andrade but he couldnt finish him, if i remember correctly it was in the last round so Bute escaped that one, but he had dominated Andrade till that point and beat him in the rematch in the 4th i think, not 100% on that though.

Bute beat the count. I was messing with the guys to see where they were at.

But the ref was wrong for telling Andrade to go to the corner like 5 times. This is why people thought the ref blew the KO victory for Andrade, when it wasn't.

If you look at the tape, Bute did beat the count.

Let Bute beat Kessler and Froch, then he deserves a shot at the champ.
