You guys know boxing is a business, right? I'm willing to bet Froch would jump at the chance of fighting Bute in Canada, which would be a great fight.

bute is a huge draw in canada, canada is an exciting atmosphere..

the scope of the fight would be greater there against froch or ward..

But either way, Ward is the man at 168.

I am not categorically stating that, but you would need to prove otherwise.

Either way, Ward has proven himself by walking the hard road, Bute has not.
            Wasn't invited.

"Bute, 30, fought two fights in a row on Showtime, in late 2008 and early 2009, but he was not invited to join the Super Six when Hershman put it together in July 2009. Hershman said his exclusion was nothing against Bute. He said the tournament was very difficult to put together and "the only way to get five promoters and six fighters on the same page was within the existing relationships I had. It wasn't that I didn't think [Bute and Bedard] were worthy or trustworthy. I just didn't have the depth of the relationship I had with the others."

Bedard and Bute were disappointed that Showtime left him out, but that's in the past, they said.

"We were surprised because Lucian was IBF champion and one of the best fighters in the division," Bedard said. "We understand the reason. The problem was all the guys we were dreaming to fight were with Showtime. But at the end of the day, Lucian is more popular without being in the Super Six because everyone was speaking about him and asking why wasn't he in."

Super middleweight titlist Lucian Bute, the one elite super middleweight not part of Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic, signed a multi-fight agreement with the network Friday.

I like Bute, I think he's a really good technically sound boxer,,,but he hasn't really fought any good competition yet--and he never leaves Canada man. I like the Bute vs Froch match-up,,,if Froch fought him in Canada, I'd give a small edge to Bute in that fight.. Any place outside of Canada, it's a pick-um fight.

The people that say Bute only fights in Canada never mention that Ward only fights in the U.S.

I am new to this forum and I mean no disrespect but why is there so much anti Bute mentality here? I think because there are a lot of Americans and Brits here. I totally understand some of the points about Bute not having fought the best, although this was not his fault. Most Super middleweights were locked in Super 6 and those bigger names that were not in Super 6 (Kessler, and later Pavlik) refuse to fight him. Many of you act like this is the fighter's fault(i.e. Bute low-balled him). Even if this is true that would be the management's fault. Another thing i hate hearing is that Bute is no good because of his one mishap against Andrade...Has anyone seen the freaking rematch???
Let's stop the hate and focus on actual boxing facts...If you think Bute is such a poor boxer, please tell me why...I'm tired of hearing "he's a *****" or "overated", - if you think this tellme why...
If you look at who he's fought, it may not be the biggest names but still he won clear fights against some significant fighters which Froch and Ward had problems with...

Again not sure why so many hate Bute since he is one of the most decent champs I've seen...

Oh and one more thing: Bute has had 2 dreams as a boxer. One was to become a champion and hte other is to fight in Madison Square Gardens....He wants to fight in States and it is only a matter of time...THat should shut up most of those that say he will not fight outside Canada
