Better career as of now? Ward or Calzaghe?

Exactly. I'm not just sitting on my couch praying Ward wins his fights so I can come on here and say, "He's better than Calzaghe!" But when an argument can be made, what does that say about Calzaghe that it's even close at this point, knowing Ward will probably fight 5-6 more years minimum? If he beats Bute, this poll is rendered pointless because there is no debate. You know what? I actually agree with you. The funniest quote about Calzaghe came from, IMO, Carl Froch himself: "Calzaghe's career has more question marks than the Riddler's catsuit."
I just think you're misrepresenting slightly, slanting the facts a little in Ward's favour. I do think it's really pretty close, and you could argue that getting a contentious decision over an ancient Bore Hard > everything Ward has achieved so far. But the fact that the question can be asked and considered says a lot about Slapsie's career.
I make no attempt to hide the fact that I do not like Calzaghe. I've gone so far as to PRAISE Hatton for actually taking on big fights while Calzaghe stayed home and hid behind his meaningless record. Yet there are plenty of people from England who say Calzaghe had the better career than Hatton. I say NO WAY IN HELL. Hatton lost to arguably two of the best 10 fighters to ever walk the earth. Calzaghe hasn't fought half the competition Hatton has. Calzaghe may be the better fighter, but it would be a real shame if he ended his career more adored than Hatton.Comment

See, why do you do THIS, Diego? It's such a ******, ****headish move on your part.
It doesn't make me look bad, it makes YOU look bad. It makes you look like a *****y, snidey, silly little boy who can't debate like an adult.
What, because Carl Froch comes from England I'm completely incapable of scoring a fight? Only the good ol' USA can score a fight objectively? (Wait... where did the third judge who scored it 118 for Ward come from again?)
Don't "Brit" me. Don't be that much of a silly little prick.
From the post you EVEN QUOTED:
I largely concur with your assessment of last night's fightComment

Sidenote : Ricky Hatton doesn't get the credit he deserves ever since the embarassing destruction at the hands of the Pingster.
It's funny how "fans" of this sport are so quick to write guys off after a crushing defeat. Cotto is another example of a guy who I feel hasn't gotten his "just due" around here since the Margarito and Pacquiao beatings. Granted that's changed a bit since his revenge on Margarito, but the point still stands.
I'd much rather have guys face the best and lose, than avoid the best and win.Comment

Calzaghe, but it's close already. Had Ward fought and beaten Dirrell instead of Allan Green (who I don't rate at all), it'd be a tough decision.Comment

And what about Calzaghe's record suggests he would have KO'd Froch, who probably has the best chin of anyone at 168? Is it the fact that he failed to KO a shot Roy Jones, who Danny Green KO'd in 1 minute?
Calzaghe can't score a KO without a ref stepping in to call it after Joe hits all glove 20+ times a la Peter Manfredo.Comment
