Ex never found his range nor could he get his timing down (which is what his success relies upon now), he looked terrible before pulling a Judah by finding a way out of the fight. Dawson is a long, rangy fighter.... look, I'm a fan of B-Hop, I always enjoy his wisdom in interviews and his intelligence during his fights... but what I watched in those first two rounds was a 46 year old man not having an answer for a kid, that I happen to think, has actually broke through.

Dawson has now got a sneak peek of the type of fighter he'll be in with should B-Hop go through with the rematch (which I doubt). Dawson isn't the type of fighter Hopkins will thrive against and let's face it, as great as he is, time isn't taking a break. Dawson makes it look easy if they ever fight. It's just a matter of whether Hopkins will dramatize a belt-line shot as a low blow where he can't continue or if he'll cry robbery as he does after every loss.

    • Hope the rematch goes ahead.

Despite of the lack of interest, I actually like the fight and want to see it. I believe Dawson will win a wide decision, but time will tell.

How did you get all that after 1.5 rounds???

Hopkins was dropped TWO times in the first few rounds against Pascal and during that time he looked OLD, looked like he may suffer his first KO loss, but then of course he put on a CLINIC after those first few rounds. As any hopkins observer will tell you he's a notoriously slow starter. In the rematch against Pascal after the first few rounds he was down the cards, then again, put on a show.

This is boxing. 1.5 rounds doesn't tell you anything.

            • I promise you this, hopkins won't give the rematch! Dawson has his number, and bernard knows this, he will slim his way out of this fight at all cost!

You can ONLY win it by beating the man who beat the man or if it is vacant it can only be won by the #1 beating the #2.

Pascal (#2) beat the #1 guy in Dawson, thus becoming the man. Hopkins beat the man and thus he's the man now.

I think almost everyone agrees The Ring is far more prestigious than some title any kid can pick up fighting a tomato can.
No mandatories = not a real title. Plus it is not a WORLD Title......sorry - I just feel like boxers would first like to have a WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO next to their resume, then Ring Magazine Champion.

                • this is only fight at 175 that makes sense so why not do it again ? what other fight would make money there, dawson-cloud ? hopkins-cloud ? pascal-hopkins III ? dawson-pascal II? ... i cant lie i would love to see dawson-pascal II, but i think bhop n chad are the best at the weight and need to settle the issue of who is really the best, there can only be one..

if bhop ducks this, i would lose mad respect for him, but he has never been the one to hide, so i expect the rematch anytime

clearly you don't know wtf you're talking about. It is a World Title.

Those little WBA WBC whatever the hell belts you can literally win by beating a bum. Chavez jr. for example is the WBC Middleweight champion. Sergio Martinez is THE RING Champion. You tell me who the real champion is?

Chavez won his belt by beating Sebastian Zbik.

Martinez won The Ring belt by beating Kelly Pavlik (who beat Jermain Taylor who beat Bernard Hopkins). It's a lineal title. There is nothing lineal about chavez's wbc belt, nothing at all.

Nevertheless, unfortunately, most boxers don't care about the Ring or lineal titles (they're not always the same thing), but do care about the alphabet ones. That's why most of the Ring and lineal titles are vacant most of the time. The reason is that money talks. Only the biggest names are in a position where they no longer need an alphabet belt in order to make money - and even the big names mostly care more about the alphabet belts than about the lineal or Ring titles.
