That said, I hope the fight happens anyway, because I've been saying for years that Chad can't hang with Bernard and will get bullied in the clinch. I don't care how ugly the fight is, how unappealing it is to casuals, or how little it does to elevate either guy : I just want to see Hopkins decision this kid and shut everybody up about his (legit) injury.

Then you guys can all go back to talking about how boring he is, until he fights Bute and puts a clinic on him like Pascal or Pavlik, at which point you guys will all claim he's the GOAT.

I've been here since 2006 and this is how it always goes with Bernard's career.

You think Hopkins or Dawson would be able to fill an arena from where they are from? I am skeptic. Hbo likes to pay out money for fights that don't warrent this type of money so i wouldn't be surprised if Hbo pays these guys that much money.

For me, when Chad is motivated and lets his hands go he lets fly with some of the best combinations -pound for pound, boxer for boxer- in the game today...be objective and unbiased and actually WATCH his highlights...Hopkins wouldnt have the answers for an active combination puncher like Chad...watch Hopkins and watch who he beats and who he looks good against...its NOT a Chad Dawson that will be ur answer...

I wouldnt say "easy work" but a late stoppage? I could see that, sure...

stoppage?!?...nah .....I'm not going to talk like Chad is a scrub...dude is actually my type of fighter....I've said it many many times...as a Hop diehard I admire Chad's style more than any others in the sport.....and at worst I can see B.Hop losing 8-9 rounds...thats at WORST...no stoppage is happening imo

if Greenburg was still at HBO I'm sure he'd pick up the fight but Hershman is in charge now and I honestly have no idea what he's going to do. Based on what he did at Showtime he tried to make the most exciting fights possible and I'm not positive if he sees this as an exciting fight or not, but HBO has a whole lot more money than showtime does so I have no clue.

It will all boil down to how much hopkins & chad want and if HBO is willing to meet those demands.

ummm no one in the world will buy this fight therefore hopkins will be forced to dump the piece o crap belt. not like it matters he's still ring champ and dawson can figth the pascal-syllak winner which are better fights anyway. hopkins can fight bute, cloud or retire.
