Simple Marquez, although it not been for a cheater Cotto would have most likely #1 P4P at some point something Marquez has never been able to accomplish. Many will state that Cotto is not even a Great / Future HoF but in my PERSONAL opinion he will be considered years down the road.

You can't answer my question because outside of Pacquiao JMM hasn't beaten any big name opponent. When he stepped up against a very good fighter like Chris John he lost.

Barrera was done when he fought JMM. They're both great fighters but Cotto's resume is better.
Cotto beat Shane Mosley who wasn't really a prime guy as well. He's also 1-1 with Margarito. Got completely massacred vs Pac who Marquez went the distance with 3 times(many people thought Marquez won them too). Cotto has a very overrated resume outside of 147. Hell you think Cotto is P4P#1 which shows how biased you are.

Now before you call me a hater and all. I'm not really much of a fan of Marquez compared to other current boxers. But this one is easy to call unlike the Tito/Marquez poll. Also, who knows where Cotto's career could be in a couple of fights from now. So don't get all emo.

JMM easily. Cotto will be forgotten, even by fight fans.

not to mention Marquez is the lineal champ at lightweight, something cotto has never been in any division.

LOL yeah very biased because my account was created back in 2005 and back then Cotto had no potential to be one day a #1 p4p.....

Like I said triangle theories don't work. JMM has the style to give Pacquiao trouble just like Forrest had for Mosley, doesn't mean Forrest is an all time greater fighter than Oscar DLH.

              IMO Cotto's resume is better.

That's easy to answer, Hopkins is a greater faker and Ward is a greater fighter. As for Marquez-Cotto, I do't know, but if you mean smartness, Cotto is smart enoght to stay with the promoter who brought him fame and fortune, and Marquez is ****** enough to turn down a Pacquiao return for $750,000 and go to lose a lopsided decision in Djakarta for $32,500.

It's not when you created your account, it's what you have now.

Triangle theories or not, this one isn't hard at all to see who's better and that's Marquez. I'm not saying it either cause he's Mexican, it's because he has done more than Cotto has throughout his career. Like I said, who knows where Cotto might be in a couple fights from now. Maybe he beats Pac in a rematch and other really good boxers and this would turn out much much more for Cotto but for now, not even.

JMM is an ATG and definite future Hall of Famer.

Cotto is a future Hall of Famer but not an ATG.
