Wasn't Marg taunting Mosley before he was dropped and stopped?

He's good at trying to cover the fact that he's hurt with smiles and laughs, but that's where the ball stops.

He took a much worse beating at the hands of Pac and Mosley. Dude has an incredible chin, even now. I mean those counter rights that were landing all night long were as hard as Cotto could possibly hit him and he was smiling and laughing at him. Mayorga wasn't doing that at all and couldn't handle Cotto's power.

Cotto would have went on to win a UD no doubt and that's what the fight would look like every time they fight from here on out. Marg is done bro, I'm not trying to diminish what Cotto did but you can't tell me that's the same Marg from 2008, not even close. He has no movement, is slow as can be and can't land his shots anymore. He can still pressure and punch but he's done.

Again, props to Cotto though for carrying out the game plan to a tee.

Marg has always been slow with minimal movement. Cotto's punches were clearly hurting him at times, so I don't know what you mean by stating Cotto never hurt Marg. Marg was clearly stunned at times, and even buckled by Cotto's massive shots. Marg can only get off if you stand still and trade with him, or move back in a straight line. If you give him angles, movement, and clinch before he takes a step forward you can catch him coming in; rinse and repeat. Pwill gave us the blueprint, Shane Mosley executed it to perfection, and Cotto followed. Cotto changed his errors, and executed his game plan, as it has been effectively shown to work in the past by other fighters. Many people doubted whether Cotto can change his tactical errors, and he did. Give him props. That wasn't the same Cotto from 2008 either, nevertheless the outcome shouldn't be diminished. He won and showed the world that he is the better man.

Nah, I don't think Margarito is done.

I honestly believe he still has more to offer.

I actually want to see him fight Martinez a year from now (some time in 2013).

A fight between Sergio Martinez and Antonio Margarito would be fun same as this one. Tony just need to win some good fights and he be all right again.

Seriously, it ain't bad for Margarito 1-1 with Cotto, 0-1 with Mosley, 1-0 with Clottey, and 0-1 with Pacquiao.

        0-2 since losing to Pacquiao.

Also, if you look at it. He didn't get any special treatment like an easy fight. Margarito fought arguably the #1 Junior Middleweight in the whole world without an easy fight in between unlike when he fought the #1 P4P fighter of the world which he fought an easy fight in between.

I couldn't cheer loudly enough for Margarito that is my only regret.

If marg fights again, i would like to see him fight paul williams again. They're both on the decline, but stylistically is still a good fight.

Good Post as Always Cuahtemoc Speaking the Truth and being the Real Boxing fan that you are. I as well want to congratulate the Cotto Fans, But most of all Cotto really shocked me how he never went all balls out on Margarito afterwards Never Coming off as a Jerk after the fight. Cotto has always been Classy and is still a Warrior in my Eyes. Good win for Boxing and to the Puerto Rican Brothers Good win for your Boy and you Hardcore Real Boxing fans

Where did I make excuses again? I see you are the type of person that likes to argue so you can hear yourself speak.

I gave Cotto all the props in the world but not once did I see Marg hurt in this fight. Unless I was watching something else you were. He was hit hard, stumbled from the physical blow but he was never hurt in the sense of being rocked like someone who was on the verge of being KO'd.

Cotto isn't the same fighter as before and I have stated that many times. I think he did a GREAT job in clinching and moving in angles. I haven't taken anything from Cotto but extremists like you fall in the category or "cotto ran" or "Marg was on the verge of being knocked out"

Neither was true. Cotto boxed his ears off and Marg continued to come forward and still showed he can take a great shot.

Another thing, Margarito and the style of fighter he is doesn't last long in boxing. We have seen that in the past with guys like Pepino Cuevas who had a great career but his best years were on about a 7-8 years span and that was it.

Marg is the same way and I hate to say it but Rios will be the same. It's just exciting to see them and the type of fights they give the boxing public.

There's a reason Marg was the most feared man in boxing for a while but those days are long gone.

What are you.....12? Grown folks are talking here, go to the threads where you guys call each other wet.backs and island monkeys, there's plenty of those and leave the grown folks who know about boxing to talk like real men.
