I'm kinda confused by what you mean by depth. You rate more fights/deeper amount of opponents over quality of opponents?

What I mean is;

Sugar Ray Leonard has;

Hearns
Hagler
Benitez
Duran

Along with other solid wins against Top ranked opposition like Kalule, Gant, Mayweather etc.

Whereas on the other hand, Ezzard Charles, for example, has;

Charley Burley x2
Archie Moore x3
Jimmy Bivins x4
Joey Maxim x3
Lloyd Marshall x2
Jersey Joe Walcott x2
Terry Yarosz
Joe Louis

Along with other solid wins like Elmer Ray, Oakland Billy Smith, Jose Basora, Rex Layne etc.

What I mean by depth to me is pretty self explanitory.

But to go further, and in regards tot he examples, it means that although Ray Leonard's Top 4 wins are probably better than any single win of Ezzard Charles' (Besides Archie Moore, of course. And perhaps Charley Burley) Ezzard Charles clearly has much much much more depth in his resume.

Hence, why he's clearly the greater fighter. Due to the overwhelming depth of his resume.

I don't put as much stock into fighting the same guys over and over and over again. Kind of like how Ray Robinson didn't need to pummel Lamotta or Bobo Olson all those times, or Tunney beating greb those last 4 bouts. But those were the times, I guess.
