"Comparing only how Pacquiao has done with Marquez in three tremendous fights versus a Mayweather who dominated Marquez, Mayweather has the edge."

Bullsheehiiittt. There's no "edge". Edge suggests they're close.

Mayweather made Marquez look like a child. In the rounds that he won, Marquez made Pacquiao look like an amateur.

I'd replace Wonjongkam with either Khan or Gamboa, and push Froch down, off the list and replace him with Vitali, so we get:

      Floyd,
      Pacquiao,
      Donaire,
      Martinez,
      Marquez,
      Ward,
      Hopkins,
      Khan,
      Vitali,
      Wladimir.

I scored Marquez-Pacquiao a close win for Marquez, but he was knocked down by Katsidis and his fights with Diaz and Casamayor were both close before he got the wins, so I put both Donaire and Martinez ahead of him. The manner of Donaire's wins puts him third. Khan's wins have been impressive. If I say what I really think about Hopkins I'll get banned. It was difficult to leave out Bradley but I just felt it was wrong to had Wladimir in without Vitali or vice versa, and I think Vitali would KO Wladimir.

The last time the BoxingScene list was updated, fans were still waiting for Floyd Mayweather to resume his career. With a few months worth of results, plenty of debate to go around, and whispers that the biggest fight in boxing might finally be inching towards some sort of actualization, the impact of the fall can be reviewed. Manny will not fight a top opponent.

Unless they are old, shot, and/or disadvantaged, he doesnt want to know.

          Why the *** would a genuine P4P fighter require a catchweight ?

          That simply defies logic.

In his last outing he tried to setup a 38yo lightweight, and he LOST !!

Pac looked great against Marquez and Mosley. He didn't knock them out but he dominated them in every conceivable way that boxing fights are supposed to be scored. And neither of them have EVER been knocked out before and they ran for dear life so how you gonna hold that against Pac?

And who else fought 2 first ballot HOFers in 7 months? No one would even dream of doing that except Pac.

I also completely agree with Froch being ahead of Andre "I get cut with headgear and pillows on" Ward

The only problem I have with the list is BHop shouldn't be on there after that embarrasing display he put on against Dawson. Wlad should be there and Vitali/Khan should be there.
Denis Lebedev just fought 2 first ballot hall of famers within 7 months you idiot.

im not sure how you can make an argument against pacquiao being #1 pound for pound.

using just his 2 fights this yr, he shutout and kd'd someone who had not been kd'd in almost a decade

and then he just beat another top 10 p4p fighter for the 3rd time, and despite claims of robbery, anyone with a decent IQ can clearly see that pacquiao won no less than 7 rounds in that fight, and most likely won between 8-10 rounds.

if anything, pacquiao has further distanced himself from the rest of the playing field.

                No, it does not.

That is what makes this situation so absurd.

And that is why the fawning media, as well as TheRing magazine, look like incompetent fanboys right about now.

Mayweather will definitely be the betting favorite heading into that fight.

                And he will definitely win.

And then boxingscene, as well as TheRing, will have a rethink, and they will amend their records accordingly..... but as has been the recent trend, they will amend their records after they have been proven inaccurate, and not before.

Just like Froch is ranked ahead of Ward because of having a better resume, but Ward is the overwhelming favourite to win their fight.
Absolutely, but it seems kinda silly huh ?

And I pretty much agree with everything that you said in the previous post, but will add that Martinez would fight Sturm in a heartbeat.

I truly cannot understand what initially propelled Pacquiao to #1, and whatever the *** is keeping him there has nothing to do with boxing.
