I love how Wladimir Klitschko gets a honorable mention, and Carl Froch is up there on the 7th place? Huh....

So beating Clottey, Cheato, old asss Mosley and losen to Marquez makes you #1? That resume is shlt. In the list Cliff Rold states Manny beat DLH More impressively, well DUH Manny fought a toothpick 145 pound DLH and Floyd fought a stronger 154 pound DLH. DLH hadn't fought at ww since 2000.Comment

apart from being a goot matchup to the pacman what else has JMM done to deserve his no.3?
floyd looks good (against carefully selected fighters) but what has he done- and he hardly fights to deserve his no.2
wlad should be higher up
sergio might be a hype job looking for a payday against the smaller men but he's still top 5 imo
amir khan should be in the top 5- probably higher up than sucker punch KFCComment

Wait a minute.
How is Froch ranked higher than Ward?
Ward has won more convincingly in all of his fights. Froch got a gift decision against Dirrel and lost to Kessler. Froch was hit with big shots against Johnson. The only fight Froch won conviningly was against Abraham.
I like Froch's heart, but to rank him P4P over Ward, give me a break.
Then you have Donaire over Martinez when Donaire struggled with his most recent, smaller over matched opponent.
This whole list is funny.Comment

P4P rankings don't reflect who would be favourite to win a head to head. Pac is #1 because of his 9-0 record over world class opposition in a period where Mayweather has a 3-0 record. But Mayweather will be the heavy favourite to win if they do fight. Just like Froch is ranked ahead of Ward because of having a better resume, but Ward is the overwhelming favourite to win their fight.Comment

"The Take: Much has been made of how close the Marquez fight, with debate still raging about who fans and pundits thought won if they didn’t score it even. Comparing only how Pacquiao has done with Marquez in three tremendous fights versus a Mayweather who dominated Marquez, Mayweather has the edge. Pacquiao for now maintains the top spot because there’s more to his resume than Marquez and because how each did with Marquez is no firm indication of how Pacquiao-Mayweather would go. Since Mayweather’s win over Ricky Hatton in 2007, he’s been in various states of retirement and vacation more than in the ring, going 3-0 with one knockout. In the same span, Pacquiao is 9-0, was more impressive versus both De La Hoya and Hatton than Mayweather, and picked up three wins (Clottey, Margarito, and Cotto) that vastly outpace Mayweather’s Ortiz win. It’s more than enough to hold the top slot for now and, hopefully, an actual fight is coming in 2012 to settle the issue once and for all."
This reasoning alone makes the list laughable and ridiculous. No person with their head screwed on straight would reason like this. Pacquiao fought all of those fighters and looked impressive but some of those fighters were stationary targets with little skill or in clear decline, while Mayweather fought Hatton and De La Hoya at better stages in their respective careers. This list is completely bogus and reveals the kind of bias that's hurting the sport, much like the gift decision Pacquiao received in his last fight.
This site is a haven for Mayweather hatred and to have Froch ranked above Ward is mentally ******ed, plain and simple. Good frickin' grief what does this place stand for?Last edited by Slip Stream; 12-01-2011, 03:36 AM.Comment
