Dude, I never said he doesn't have a chin. He DOES, that's why he did it so effectively. It's called cheating and knowing that you are cheating helps your mental state. Boxing is 75% mental and it doesn't only apply to giving punches but taking them as well. It's the reason why you cant take a punch you cant see, your brain doesn't register it. But if you see it coming, you're way more likely to take it. You can't dispute that, its a fact. And it IS mental. Like it or not, it is my opinion that he had illegal wraps and if he did it's just plain true that they would have softened Cotto up, taking out his steam. So NO, I am NOT joking.

That guys face was busted up after that fight too, we all know it. He just keeps coming, so what? He also kept coming for Pac except Pac wasn't gettin hit with anything hard enough for the pressure to mean anything and he responded back. Same thing I believe Cotto will do.

My answer is of course Margarito can beat cotto in a fair fight. He done it before.

Margarito Punches did not gas Cotto, Cotto lack of conditioning gassed Cotto. And Tony relentless body punches and Pressure would not allow Cotto a chance to catch a break, Only break he had was in between the round.

Cotto did not even hurt Margarito, Margarito walked out of that fight the same as he walked in, Pride still intact and not a ounce of himself taking out.

Where Margarito lost a lil something was in the Mosley fight and the Pacquaio fight. It was not because Margarito have not been the same since the Cotto fight, Cotto did not do anything to margarito.

Reason Margo took a beating in the mosley fight, if you seen it you will know. Mosley was faster and clinched constantly after he thrown, he did not let Margo get his momentum up to do damage.

Pacquaio is the fastest power puncher in the game with excellent footwork, He kept mobile to neutralize Margarito power, the one time he stayed around to long Margarito got him and almost took him out. Pacquaio had to get mobile again and stick to his in and out figthing.

This whole notion that Margarito have not been the same since cotto is nonsense. No one believes it other then a few Cotto fans.

Bottomline: Margarito Pressure and relentless punching is what forces cotto to wilt. When you tired and exhausted your will is gone and the punches make a bigger impact then usual on your body and mind.

If he lets Margarito dictate the pace and push him against the ropes, yea he could.

Though Im su****ious of Marg in the 1st fight, Cotto did make mistakes that I believe he can make adjustments with. I think Margarito is coming in to fight the same fight. But this time with Margarito being out a year, and his eye (which IMO isn't 100%) is going to cause concern, especially the scar tissue which will open much easier (really for both guys too).

Not impossible obviously for Marg to win fair and square, I just see Cotto being much more ready and focused this time around and will grab the win.

Couple of good points. We will agree to disagree than, I know it should be another firefight though.

Boxing is mental so I think had he gone into the ring "Knowing" he was cheating on the biggest stage of his career that would likely make him more focused on the possibility of getting caught IMO.....

There is no way Margarito cheated in that fight or any other fight for that matter, if the man is going to use plaster to load his wraps, he is going to need much more than microscopic trace elements of Sulfur and Calcium that isnt even in plaster paris..

I mean that **** should have a good coating of plaster on there for it to do any damage through 15 yards of gauze and the padding of an 8 ounce glove be real about this ****

He's already lost mentally. If Margarito has anything left physically (doubtful), he'll win.

I felt that he mentally lost when he asked for a catch weight...

Yeah, good point. Truthfully, you can say he lost when...well, when he lost to Margarito. I feel kinda bad watching the 24-7's because Cotto seems like a good guy and I still wonder what happened to that young fighter that I thought had the skills and the cojones to perhaps take the pound for pound top slot. He might've done that had he defeated Tony. But instead he lost the fight and lost something physically and mentally in the process.
