Can Cotto Lose To Margs In a Fair Fight?

    ***Please, no racism***

We all saw how his punches had almost no effect on Mosley, the c class fighter in Mexico, besides a little knockdown, and Pacman. I notice that he will keep coming forward, yeah, but his pressure and punches are way less meaningful. It's like the pressure doesn't really matter because he gets tagged and doesn't seem able to come strong enough to keep his man in trouble. Cotto has resilience but after their first fight he swells for nothing, his tissue is badly damaged. Those punches may not hurt like the first fight, but they will swell him up either way. I think he got this fight but in boxing anything is possible and Cotto has to clinch and have his stamina/endurance ramped up for this fight - preparation should lead him to victory.

Seeing the tools that Margarito has, resilience, chin, etc. Without power, or plaster, possibly, can his pressure do enough to keep Cotto backing down this time?

No matter what any excuse comes up with for 2008..The fact is Cotto was not even hurting Margarito. And I am sure Margarito can not put "plaster" on his chin.

Also, Margarito hurt Cotto in as early as round 2. They say the substance Margarito had, gets harder as the rounds go on, in the later rounds. So how did Margarito hurt Cotto so early?

PR's are gonna' hate me for saying this, but even the Margarito that showed up for the Pacquiao fight would've given Cotto hell. The toughness and heart he showed alone would've meant Cotto would've had to go to hell and back to get a victory. This was a fast-punching, quick-footed, combination-punching, southpaw with just as enough stamina as Margarito.

Margarito also hurt Pacquiao to the body in the sixth round and had a good flurry with Pacquiao against the ropes as he dug ferociously to the body in eighth.

If Margarito is anywhere near he was in the Pacquiao fight, it will STILL be a tough fight for Miguel. I don't really consider that plaster issue to be honest.

Whether he used it or not, Margarito has a great style to beat Cotto.

I'm looking forward to Cotto avenging his loss, not seeking revenge, which is different.

      My 2 cents.

You have to realize, Cotto's chin is not that good. He has been hurt/stunned by Corley, Torres, Judah. These guys can punch but the way Cotto reacted to their clean punches, was like, wow this guy is very vulnerable.

I thought Marg beat Clottely more clearly then Cotto did and he also Hurt manny in the 6th round with a body punch i don't think Cotto ever hurt Manny (though he did damage to his face)

Just my honest opinion, I think the output will be the same... Cotto CANT hurt Margarito but Margarito CAN hurt cotto with or without plaster. The only way Cotto can win this fight is via close decisions.

His punches had no effect against Mosley because Mosley never allowed him to get any leverage and he tied up. It's not like we didn't see Margarito hurt Pacquiao.

Sometimes I wonder what you guys are watching...

Except for judah that was all at 140 if im not mistaken?

Margarito was hurt 3 or 4 times in the Pac fight and he was brutally knocked out by Mosley on top of that here he is getting wobbled by Santos. Does that also mean Margaritos chin isnt that good?

Kev, that's bull**** talk from a "tuff" guy...you don't like Cotto so you're going to **** on him no matter what. You really believe that macho talk...lol.
Margo busted Cotto's nose in the 2nd round with a couple nice uppercuts. Cotto was swallowing blood ever since, decreasing his stamina. Tony HAD a good chin, but i believe it is cracked by Cotto, Mosley and Pac.

For marg to say he wasn't hurt by Cotto's bombs is just plain horseshit. You can bet those mistakes have been corrected and this fight will be more interesting, who-ever wins.

By the way, you don't like Cotto, i don't like Margo, that's just our boxing talk. doesn't mean i think any less of you, for what it's worth.

Margarito almost knocked out Manny Pacquiao in round 6.

Pacquiao said he was lucky to get out that round alive.

                    His words, not mine.
