Can we at least all agree, Miguel Cotto was never really that good anyway?

    Not his resume.

Corrales won't get in, Margo will not get in yet.

I can see Cotto getting in based on resume.
    Cotto on resume?

By beating Mosley and the great Judah?

Anyways, I will hold that for another time.

      Even Clottey gave him trouble.

Margarito makes him take a knee again, just watch....
Cotto is most assuredly Hall of Fame bound as a boxer. He has one of the best left jabs of the era, one of the best left hooks to the body in the history of boxing and remained undefeated until the controversial loss to Margarito all while avoiding no one. The best short-distance puncher since Mike Tyson and very durable, despite having a questionable chin and relative hittability with uppercuts. He's been shot as a fighter since the Margarito loss (people will disagree with this, but that fight marked an end to the prime of his career and possible ruined him as a fighter).

Beat Judah, Clottey, Mosley, Torres, Quintana, Malignaggi while those guys were still relatively active, capable fighters. Won rounds against a Pacquiao who was on an unprecedented wave of momentum in knocking guys out. How is he not a good fighter?

Cotto is all heart, has solid boxing ability and pretty good footwork. Problem is his defense is and always has been lacking. at 140 he could withstand, at 147 he could barely survive, and 154 against top fighters he would fold. Marg is the only 154 lb fighter he has a chance against IMHO, and he is far from being at the top of the division.

Prime Miguel Cotto, here he had a right hand, a non one dimensional body attack, his attack to the body didn't only consist of a left hook to the body and more confidence. The difference between today's Cotto and a prime Cotto is pretty big in my opinion.

He has no heart, hence he takes knees.

Your biggest W's and L's are only apart of it.

Fighting at a consistent level vs solid to elite comp is a big part of it as well.

And in that aspect Cotto is more than qualified.

Maliginaggi, love him or hate him, he's one tough ass motherfucker. I couldn't hold that against Cotto for not knocking him out.

I slightly disagree. I believe he takes a better punch at 147. He routiinely got stunned at 140.

Cotto IMO is one of the most overrated fighters of this decade. Complete hypejob by HBO and Top Rank. In fact Top Rank cherrypicks their fighters to make them better than they actually are. HBO wanted another Puerto Rican star and they MADE him. Just like they MADE Manny Pacquiao. Eventually these guys get exposed just ilke that fraud pacquiao will get exposed by Maywether.

I mean this guy Cotto was busted up by an inactive Zab Judah....
