He deserves a big fight and, like middleweight champs of eras past, is looking for it in divisions below. Historically, that's where the big money has been - not in super middle or 175. I am not putting him in their class but he's not doing anything that Hagler or Hopkins didn't do.
Hagler and Hopkins did fight great welterweights, but they fought great welterweights that moved up and challenged themselves, and much bigger guys for the most part than either Floyd or Pac. Duran's the only guy either fought that wasn't FAR bigger than either Floyd or Pac, that I can think of.

I don't blame him for wanting money, every fighter does, but Sergio just sounds so pathetic and desperate whenever he does this. He could make a ton of money chasing Chavez Jr. and Alvarez too, go after them with the same desperation. Get over it already and act like the middleweight champ.

" Pacquiao earned his rank by moving up and beating the best guys at those weights "

FACT: Pacquiao has never beaten a top lw, he has never beaten a top jww, he has never beaten a welter ranked higher than 4, and he wouldnt even fight a genuine jmw.

      Give yourself an uppercut fanboy.
Wasn't Cotto ranked 3 or 4 by the time he fought Pacquiao? haha.. Idiot!

Sergio seems desperate but at least he didn't have to go through what Hagler went through. And Hopkins too for that matter. They were pretty desperate as well. And I think Pac and Mayweather fit your description of great welters who moved up and challenged themselves. Not quite on the level of Duran and Leonard but then again, Martinez isn't quite on the level of Hagler or Hopkins either nor is he a natural middle like they were.

Cotto was still a highly ranked fighter, but they will keep mentioning the fact that Cotto lost to Margarito 3 fights prior to fighting Pac until the end of earth.

Funny why Martinez is calling guys smaller than him. Why not try Hopkins Bute Froch Alexander or Ward? Seek guys your own size Maravilla, or bigger than you!

Stop being so ****** Domini, you are like some ignorant little kid.

Firstly, remove Marquez, because Pacquiao has never beaten him, regardless as to the official result..... secondly, Pacquiao's opponents were broken, and even the midget Marquez could have beaten most/all of them, let alone the fact that those guys would have been beaten by a number of guys within their own division.

Martinez's opponents were prime, with possibly the exception of Pavlik, and Marquez could not have beaten them.

Give yourself an uppercut, and go stand in the corner.

You " fans " need to understand that only two things comprise a resume, and one is much more important then the other.....
1.) who you fought (the least important, and sometimes completely irrelevant - Hoya for example)
2.) when you fought them (the most important, obviously)

You dont even mention the "who", unless you have considered the "when".

There is no doubt that Martinez' opponents were a bigger threat to Sergio, than Pacquiao's opponents were to Manny.

Let him fight Mayweather so we can see Mayweather pitch a near shutout against him. The way Martinez drops his hands, Mayweather would nail him easy all night long, even if his gloves were up, there is no way he could block Mayweather's precision timed rights. Darrin Barker even found him hittable, imagine what Mayweather would do. Easy fight and money in my pocket.

Pacman barely makes 147, and Mayweather doesnt take fights with fighter who look to good to beat him.

You fkn idiot, what a clown.

The disgrace is the welterweight champion of the world calling out lightweights.

1.) Pacquiao is supposed to be a JMW champ
2.) Pacquiao is supposed to be P4P #1
3.) Pacquiao stated that he would fight anybody at 150

EVERYBODY (Roach/Ariza/Pacquiao) thought that Marquez was old, faded, and could not handle the weight.

You *******s are a total joke for insinuating that the supposed P4P champ is being "picked on" by Martinez, and yet supporting Manny when he tried to setup a lightweight.

FACT: Martinez would not be exposed by the midget Pacquiao, like Pacquiao was exposed by the midget Marquez

Sergio wants to fight the champ, Manny wanted to fight an old guy who was faded and disadvantaged at the weight, big difference there.
