To me it's pretty clear what Arum is doing. He is telling everyone he wants a fourth fight with jmm hoping that Marquez will say no. By that time Floyd will most likely already have another fight lined up for next year so then Arum can set up another in house win for Manny with Tim Bradley.

Its hard to tell where team Mayweather stand right now. Ellerbe says Pac for May 5th. Morales is saying GBP is trying to arrange a fight between him and Floyd. Floyd is saying he wants to fight in Februrary. WTF?
For arguments sake, lets say Floyd takes a tuneup in Feb. How does that leave enough time for promoting/training/negotiations/etc for a showdown with Pac less than 3 months later?Last edited by Deevel916; 11-15-2011, 12:41 PM.Comment

Actually, Schaefer, Floyd, Ellerbe, and Dan Rafael confirmed the Morales thing was a straight rumor, nothing more.
And, Mayweather said he had May 5, 2012 ready a full week before Pac arguably lost to JMM, when everyting was still all good in Pac land.
You can't change the fact that Arum and Pac clearly said they aren't negotiating a Floyd fight, in favor of a Marquez fight, because Floyd "will still be there a year from now".
At least the world, the people sane enough to look at the facts, can fianlly see once and for all who was avoiding who.
The only time they had negotiations, Manny straight walked away from them and announced the Clottey fight a day later. Then, they tried the whole "Money Time:Mayweather Deicsion" thing, when they actually had Margarito signed to fight Manny in NOV 10', as confirmed by Margarito. Now, we have a full on press statement from Mayweather his team that they want PAc on May 5, 2012, as was confirmed by Golden Boy and Schaefer (who by the way has NO track record of lying), and that was a full week before the Marquez fight. Than, after Mayweather announced that, Arum goes the entire week saying Floyd is scared, not being serious, actually wants Morales, etc. Than, when pac arguably loses to Marquez, they send word to Golden Boy and that they intend on fighting Marquez again, and have no intention of negotiating a Mayweather fight, as confirmed by Dan Rafael and the federal judge who has been in charge of mediating Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations. Once the backlash is on in full swing, although ESPN didn't cover it very much (I wonder why????), Arum comes out and says "We don't know who Manny is fighting next. Why would we talk to Mayweather, if we are going to fight Marquez. If we want to fight Mayweather, we will sit down and talk with them".....pretty much confirming they have no inention of negotiating with Floyd once again.
No matter how you spin it, you can't deny that the truth has come out, and Arum-Pacquiao-Team Pac-Top Rank have all been exposed the past 2-3 days. What a difference 72 hours makes.Comment
