But Mayweather will never in this lifetime fight Martinez, he is scared **** of him. He is scared of Cotto too, he won't fight any real man.
He wants Pacquaio because he is smaller, but now he is also a beast so he is scared of the little felow also.
???? Floyd is scared of Martinez? Bob Arum just admitted that he would prefer if Martinez died and came back from the dead and fought Pac then actually put Pac in the ring with Martinez. Floyd hasn't said anything about Martinez (As of yet) I don't think either will fight him but if I had to pick who would fight Sergio, I would lean towards Mayweather because ever since Pac been at WW, he hasn't even fought anyone on top of their game or coming off of an impressive win but Floyd has.

            • I've never understood the point of having weigh ins the day before. There is so many freaking divisions about every 5lbs is a different class because weight is so important. Yet every single fight the fighters are allowed to rehydrate 20 lbs over the division they are actually fighting in, and whoever can rehydrate the most has the advantage. I think all fights should be same day weigh in. That way you actually have two fighters fighting in the same division and not someone that ballooned up two weight classes still fighting against a guy who only ballooned two lbs.

I would love to see this fight. I'm a huge martinez fan, but if you want to do same day weigh in, why not at 154? The actual limit for the weight class? If he can't balloon up over night, whats the problem with actually fighting at 154?

How many fighters would be over the weight with an hour to go , how many promoters would be left in the lurch , how many opponents would say I m not fighting because he is over weight so pay me more money .

The reason why they weigh in 30hrs before the fight is for safety , with same day weigh in the commission believe that many fighters will dehydrate themselves to fight at a weight that is too light for them and they would compete dehydrated which would cause more fatality's and more brain damage amongst boxers as the brain is not in a good state to knocked around while it is dehydrated .

Same day weigh in is great for the public and its very fair for the fighters but the medical advisers say its not a good way to go , they want the fighters to compete at a hydrated state but in the process the 30hrs can be manipulated so that it is very unfair for a fighter where he might have to face somebody that is a stone heavier on the night of the fight , no real way around it unless they make them weigh in say 3 times over the last week and they must be at or under the weigh-in limit all 3 times , this will stop them being dehydrating because they wont dehydrate for that length of time so you would force them to to fight at a much more natural weight without the up down of a 30 hr weigh in .

It was change because for safety you right...But, because many fewer weight-classes. Now we have more weight-classes that there should same day weigh-in...

Same deal how on the day do they stop a fighter fighting dehydrated so that he could fight in a lower weight class , which means he fights a smaller man which is the reason they do it in the first place , lots of big guys with not much power fight in a weight class that is too light for them they want the size advantage at the weight , the 30 hr weigh-in allows them to do that , so you effectively would have them fighting to light if you had same day weigh-in , dont underestimate the risks people will take to win and dont under estimate the weight in fights , Roach is the first trainer that is really using weight to advantage his fighter , you would be amazed in how many trainers dont grasp the full weight picture .

Not really. A lot of "big guys" fought at a weight-class that was too light for them cuz' they were too small to fight at the next higher weight.

Lamotta would had benefited immensly if there was a SMW weight-class. Like Hagler he was too small to fight at LHW. So he had to dangerously shrink down to MW to have some success.

But, if there was a 168 division that danger would have been eliminated.

Really with as many divisions as we have today. There should be same day weigh-in...The state of Pensylvannia still has same day weigh-in rule. As many weight-classes as we have now the danger is very limited, and it would eliminate catch-weights which is a plus.

Of course you will get the few that would still try and shrink down. But, there so many weight-classes now more so than before that you don't have to do that.

Same day weigh-in is the way to go. I like that idea.
