****riding? You're delusional. He took one accurate shot and got dropped. Angulo then proceeded to throw a million looping punches missing on almost all of them and didn't have an ounce of steam on one punch after mid way through the 1st round.

Cotto aint no KO artist but Kirkland is easy to hit and he can't take a punch. Face it man, I like Kirkland but he just can't take a punch. Cotto is faster and sharper than Angulo and Ishida, Kirkland would get hurt quickly in that fight.

Keep saying Cotto aint a KO artist, but Ishida was? Please you just have to face reality. Great win for Kirkland but he's part lucky that Angulo punched himself out so early. He does deserve credit for surviving however, but this fight made it more clear that Kirkland just cannot take a punch.

the kirkland i saw tonite n the kirkland i saw against ishida were very very different fighters. kirkland was in much better shape and i suspect that has a lot to do with his endurance. kirkland doesnt have a great chin? mebbe, but with that said, ishida is a 160lber and a whole lot bigger than cotto. cotto is severely undersized against kirkland, i really dont see how he has the power to do what angulo didnt.

Do people forget how he got continuesly rocked by PAcman and Zab Judah.
He is next to blind to that lefthand from southpaws.
Hell even Margarito clobbered him mostly with his left uppercut and left hook.

Kirkland is back with Ann Wolfe and is absolute beast with her.

Cotto's chin and problem with pressure.
Kirklands dropped and stopped one of the most durable in the div.

Love Miguel but Kirkland would overwhelm him, bad style match-up. Honestly, Cotto at 154 is still a mystery, and right now, I'm not sure the division is a good fit for him. Think he maxed out at 147.

Angulo dropped him hard and couldn't finish him cause he's not an accurate puncher and then punched himself out.

It was plainly obvious he had NOTHING behind his punches after midway through the first round. If Cotto hurt him like that he would finish him, he wouldn't blow his load without landing. He'd snipe him out.

If Cotto fought at 160 he'd still be a bigger puncher than Ishida.

154 is one of the best, my personal favorite. cotto and alvarez, the two big titleholders need to fight some of the other top fighters, but knowing their promoters i think they'll be able to fight lesser opponents for a while. i wish they would prove me wrong though. kirkland is deff a bad style matchup for cotto. unless cotto clocks him clean right away, i don't see him escaping kirkland's pressure and punches. i think cotto might retire at the end of 2012, i mean where else can he go, back down to 147? i know he wants to fight manny again if he gets past margs so i think that might be a possibilty, thus vacating his 154 strap. not sure though, we'll have to wait and see what happens in december.
