Joe Cortez was all kinds of wrong in that fight. Not saying that what Ortiz did was acceptable; he screwed up by intentionally butting Mayweather. Mayweather was probably pissed and took a cheap shot; many of us may have done the same thing if put in that situation. But Cortez lost control of what was going on when that happened. He should taken control of the fight at that point and given Ortiz time to recover from a punch that was during a break (it had not been verified by the referee that time was back in).

After Ortiz fouled, Cortez appeared very upset with him and may have let his emotions get in the way when he got dropped, deciding to count him out instead of doing the right thing and giving him time to recover.

I agree that he was not supposed to look at the time keeper, but he did and it happens. Just because Cortez wasn't looking does not mean that Floyd is not allowed to punch Ortiz. The ref said let's go, motioned to box and Floyd knocked him out. Do you think Floyd was looking to see if Cortez was looking or not when he threw that right hand?..........Rockin'
