Its not that Pac doesn't have handspeed I think the point is the opponents are so much slower that some wont define the speed as "incredible" because of the context.

As an example, a better judge of floyd's speed is the Judah fight, another fast guy, as opposed to the Baldomir fight because everyone is faster than baldo.

So I would assume you have actually boxed or currently do?
Yes I have, but that has nothing to do with what we are discussing.

I've very politely asked you and other for examples of Pacquiao using his handspeed to overwhelm ANYONE in ANY fight.

      I see NOT ONE EXAMPLE.

Pac is definitely explosive when closing the distance to land his jab, jab straight left.

      But riddle me this:

If Pacquiao is sooooo fast, then how did Marquez counter him so often, but could do basically nothing against Floyd?

Timing is is definitely more useful than pure speed, but you must see something to have the reflexes to respond to something. When a fighter has elite handspeed, most of these guys don't see the punches coming. They get hit and try to respond.

      That NEVER happens with Pacquiao.

How many other examples do you need?

I still haven't gotten even ONE from you guys.

Show me ANY fight where someone would say "That guys hands are as fast as *fill in the blank*".

Pacquiao is definitely explosive as I've already agreed, but that's when he is darting forward. It comes from out of nowhere and many boxers aren't prepared for it.

Keep in mind though that his entire resume reads as a "Who's Who" among the current plodders in boxing.

Again, don't take my word for it. Look it up. Also, don't take my word for Pacquiao's speed. Go watch his fights. you might be surprised to see for yourself that what I am saying is absolutely true.

If Pacquiao was as fast as some of you say, Erik Morales would NEVER have been able to have his way with Manny the way that he did without landing knockout blows.

You people can take sarcastic tones with me, but until you reexamine your current misconceptions, you're just yapping about sour g****s.

Tua said it very well a while ago during another one of these "debates"

floyd is fast but we saw him against 130-147 guys.

pacquiao looked fast against 112-130 guys.

End of the day, Floyd probably has slightly faster hand speed (I'd say their lead crosses are dam identical in speed though), however, Pacquiao fully commits his punches and as a result, slows them down.

I don't think anyone has ever taken anything you've written seriously.

If you had something credible to say, wouldn't you have just said it and not re-asked the question that I posed?

I have no time to waste on your foolishness.

            .
easy. How about the entire de la hoya fight, or the entire hatton fight, or the entire cotto fight or the entire clottey fight or the first round of marquez or... wait.. have you ever seen pacquiao fight?

            here's a random highlight video :

How do you think he gets so many knockdowns if not for his handspeed?

funny thing is when manny fought cotto i remember the HBO commentator mention that cotto is faster than any of manny's pass opponents then after a few rounds its manny is to fast for cotto.

Floyd fough zab so we can get a better gauge of his speed because zab is as fast if not faster. Manny has yet to fight that type of opponent rom 145-150. Taking all the hate out of it, the point that manny's speed could be overated because of the nature of the opponents is I think a fair point. Doesn't mean manny is slow.

Zab is as fast or faster than floyd. I didn't say manny was slow. Cotto is faster than manny's other opponents but that doesn't mean he is fast. The point is a better gauge of how fast manny is would be to see him in with an opponent as fast or faster, like a zab. Same thing goes for floyd or any other fighter.
