GRUSTLER.... Anyone who thinks Floyd is at his best in the first 4-5 rounds needs to be on medication. Some of these guys are just Floyd haters or Ortiz lovers. It doesnt matter what point you prove they will never see it. Great analysis by the way.

Have you by any chance seen Berto v. Ortiz? If so, you will notice that Victor Ortiz was constantly head butting Berto during clinches. These butts were done on purpose. I think that the whole "Headbutts = finding a way out of the fight" makes 100% no sense. If that was indeed his intention, then why do it when you are putting a hurting on Berto? Could it be that Ortiz head butts as a dirty tactic (not too dissimilar to maybe mayweather's elbows or Holyfields headbutts, or Golata's low blows)? People do dirty things to get an edge in the heat of the moment. You may recall Golota put a whopping on Rid**** Bowe before the disqualification.

      • Floyd has never been a quick starter... even Hatton won a lot of rds early on. It was just going to be pain after the 4th rd for Ortiz.

        • I don't think Ortiz would have necessarily beaten Mayweather, but I think the fight would have been closer than what some others believe.

          • Victor never connected cleanly, those were fluke flurries which wouldnt hurt Calderon. He used his head when he felt his hands arent connecting.

            • They need to put this behind them. I was rooting for Ortiz but he ***ed up big time with the torpedo headbutt. I mean I was like WTF? I was mad at the ending but then I thought when I bite my lip or tongue when eating I get mad as a motha ***a. Then I imagine so fool headbutting me on purpose I would be furious. I think Floyd simply paid him back, it wasn't a way out it was more of a F.U. that unfortunately ended the fight. S-hit happens when u party naked.

              • It's clear that anybody who thinks Ortiz was winning the fight, or that he would have made it a good fight in the later rounds, obviously can't stand Floyd Mayweather Jr. and pray to God that he will lose...it's pathetic really.

ortiz wasn't winning the fight, but there was a chance he would make it a good fight after the 4th since ortiz got a little busier.

I believe that Danny is in denial. Im pretty sure he has seen replays of the fight by now and he knows good and well that ortiz was getting the business. The headbutt by victor was not a reaction to elbows or an accident, it was blantantly intentional due to frustration. After every round the replayed in slow the flush right hands and counters he was eating since the bell rang. Usually floyd starts slow and doesn't really heat up till about the fourth fifth round...But he was very accurate and pinpoint from round one and was actually having his best round in the 4th before the headbutt occurred. Victor looked nice when floyd was against the ropes but again.. it looked nice. Those shots were not landing cleanly because floyd was twisting and turning rolling his shoulders...thus victor headbutted floyd cause there was no other way to do damage...mostly people were upset by how the fight ended because we wanted to see more...there was still a punchers chance for victor and he might have gotten lucky had the fight continued...but frow what we saw in the first four rounds, it appeared that floyd was getting warmer and nothing was working for victor...seemed like floyd was on his way to having a stellar night...let it go danny

there's fighting dirty and then there's going out of your way to risk a disqualification by dropping both hands and blatantly launching your head.

but i get what you mean. i still think ortiz could've gotten up from those punches though.
