HBO Needs a White fighter

Who exactly are they racist against? They're in business to secure ratings and make money. If the don't get ratings they don't get money. Wlad K was probably their most popular white fighter and he couldn't draw crap for an HBO audience, so why would they feature him?

That sort of thuggery in the sport doesn't appeal to me. I won't watch his next fight much less pay for it.

I prefer clean fighters that don't need to resort to cheating to win.

Katsidas and Litzau are both exciting fighters when they win or lose and thats what the common guy is looking for when he come across a televised fight.

But they're not world-class (Katsidis closer to it than Litzau).

Adamek was both exciting and very good at cruiserweight (not so much at heavyweight), but HBO wouldn't have him on at that time.

Bute is both exciting and very good at 168, but they dropped him after his two KO wins.

Mayweather is undefeated and is in a great division with every guy calling him out, it makes sense to have him on the network, ywah he isnt the most exciting, but he has managed to stay undefeated against top opposition and there is a demand for him believe it or not.......

Who's so great in the division?

All the great WW's from the 2000's already beat their primes out of each other while he was retiring and fighting bums.

The only thing that's left is young noobs like Khan and Ortiz and hypejobs like Canelo.

I remember the highest ratings HBO had in 2005 was for Wladimir-Peter, and the highest ratings in 2009 was for Vitali-Arreola (and it wasn't because of Arreola, because Arreola's previous fight with McCline had very low ratings).

People have given up hope on Wlad. His style simplr bores them top sleep. That isn't to say his potential never flashed before the public before, only that it was fleeting. Vitaly? Look at who he's fought, at who's out there. Not a thing that interests the common fan besides him fighting his brother. Not a thing about the past matters. Business is about "what have you done for me lately".

It's about the ratings, what the viewer is attracted to and who they can associate with. I don't know what the story is with Bute, I like watching him. But he obviously wasn't drawing the numbers. If he were it wouldn't matter what color he was. To suggest HBO is racist against whites is as ridiculous a claim as Mayweather accusing HBO of being racist against him.

If HBO is American based by the majority it makes sense to cater to what the American public will buy and associate with just like it would for SKY and European fighters. There is no racist agenda, just good business sense.
