He wasn't fighter Top Rank guys then just like he isn't fighting Top Rank guys now.
At that time there was no Top Rank vs Golden Boy war so those fights certainly could have happened if floyd wanted them to. Sure the Oscar rematch was on the table that obviously would have been his choice to take it he certainly wasn't obligated to.

I hope Cotto destroys Margarito. Do you think Cotto would consider Sergio if he beats Margs?

if floyd really wanted to fight cotto and margarito it would've happened.

everyone knew the retirement was a sham... its just too convenient that when cotto and marg were tearing through WW, floyd decided to duck out

He didn't duck Cotto, but he sure as hell got out at the right time.

          He did duck Margarito though.

cotto and floyd had their ww belts at the same time. margarito was a ww beltholder already before floyd went up to ww.

these fights were there to be made. instead floyd took on a JWW for a WW fight. then retired.

Floyd is not GBP, Floyd has not fought a Top Rank guy since he dipped on them. I fail to see what that has to do with GBP Top Rank feud.

Floyd-Top Rank feud is completely different, the only thing GBP has to do with that is that Floyd wanted Oscar during the TR-GBP feud so Floyd had to make a move or not fight Oscar, the rest as they say is history Floyd went from being the best fighter ever, to some clown ducking every challenge possible all according to Bob Arum.
