I want each and every one of you to come into this thread and state: Yes Cotto is currently ducking Sergio Martinez at 154. All of you please line up and do it.

what does cotto ducking martinez have to do with floyd ducking cotto?

Personally, I wouldn't go as far to say floyd ducked cotto or anyone really, but I do have a bit of a problem of how he left 147 pounds when cotto & margarito were on the top and the division was absolutely amazing at the time. Everyone wanted to see floyd vs cotto and/or margarito. His choice to "retire" but we all knew it wasn't real. Seemed almost like he just sat back and let everyone beat eachother up, the timing was too perfect.

They aren't related at all, just want Cotto to be held to the exact same standard by everyone who claims Floyd ducked him.

Clearly I do not think Floyd ducked Cotto.

I never say Floyd ducked Cotto, but there are some differences in the situations...

One--Floyd and Cotto were both Welterweights, no one had to move up or down in weight.

Two-- Next to Oscar, Cotto, even at the time, was the biggest money fight he could have taken, so it made the most business sense.

Sergio is a division above Cotto and finanically, is not particularly appealing.

When Floyd retired after the Hatton fight those fights were not on the table anyway it was Oscar II a fight no one really wanted, so I fail to see how those guys really relate in fact it probably have been worse had he went on and fought Oscar again. He wasn't fighter Top Rank guys then just like he isn't fighting Top Rank guys now.

Yes, Cotto is ducking Martinez for the more lucrative and personal match with Margarito (who holds a win over Martinez )
