I hate people who cant articulate their own views and instead post Youtube clips to try to do it.
So what? Ryan Giggs never played in one but that's not a basis to say he's not a great player. Times have changed and club football >> international football.

Everyone knows Sugar Ray Robinson is the GOAT of boxing. Vitali, a great modern day champ, doesn't even come close to that.
I mean, who are the best fighters Vitali beat? Samuel Peter? Chris Arreola? Tomasz Adamek? Corrie Sanders? Come on broLast edited by jimmy1569; 10-05-2011, 12:30 PM.

He isnt even greater than Zidane.
Messi have performed to such a high level for Barca that when he plays for Argentina he's expected to do it all. He's set the standards that high.
But for the "excuse" that he needs Xavi & Iniesta? I believe last season those two contributed just 7 of his 53 goals (55 games). He also managed 24 assists. So much for the he "needs" Xavi & Iniesta.

Ok how about 2008 Olympics? Or each group game of the 2010 World Cup where Messi was quality. Or even the 2011 Copa America where he picked up like 3 MOM awards before they lost in the quarter finals?
Anything else that I have to put together to back up my argument that he will be the greatest player, if he isn't already, to ever do it.
You can't handicap the guy because he's playing for the greatest team ever (potentially).
