    6) Vitali Klitschko has the best boxing numbers = Universally NOT regarded as The Best Ever

Can you spot the discrepancy here?
Tiger Woods does not have the best "golf number" and is not universally regarded as the best ever. Babe Ruth either.

And what exactly are "boxing numbers"?

Difference is in basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, the best fight the best on a regular basis but in boxing, a fighter can go his entire career without facing a great fighter. Vitali has faced one great fighter and he lost the fight. The best fighter he beat is Sam Peter, enough said. And it has nothing to do with racism because Rocky Marciano is in most people's Top 5 ATG heavyweight list.

Also, Floyd has the best punchstats numbers in the history of punchstats.

In all truth, at his current rate of progression, it's hard to see how Messi, by the end of his career, won't be regarded higher than Maradona.

Neither does mj. He is the greatest basketball player ever but he holds no major records.

As a matter of fact the thread creator probably doesn't know that only one of those guys holds any real records anymore.

and since 2 of the 4 "greatest ever" have the same skin color as klits, how the f can that be the cause?

At least with Jordan you could argue it. He has the most Finals MVPs, I believe the most playoff points and PPG in the playoffs ever, but yeah other than that he doesn't hold the major records.

Finals mvp's yes, I highly doubt he holds the playoff points record.

Though of all the names mentioned, jordan as the greatest is the least debateable.

In boxing history the klits aren't even pippen

                Dumb, dumb, dumb...

First of all what defines the Greatest Athlete in any sport? Michael Jordan is considered the greates ever on the court why??? Maybe the fact that he is the most recognized named when it comes to basketbal. Kobe, Kareem, Malone, have better #'s than Jordan in many aspects but are not greater. Dimaggio, Pete Rose, and many others have far better #'s than Ruth but he is still the most recognized name in baseball(by the way I don't recognize him as the greatest ever). Just to make a point. So with that said the Greatest boxer will and always will be recognized as Ali. Most recognized, admired and has made the biggest impact in the history of the sport. No other name/face its more recognized in boxing out of All Time Greats than ALI.

As soon as I saw Pele's name I started typing this then looked down to see if anyone had already done it :/.

                  Maradonna > Pele.

Ts is ******, Edwin Valero is obviously the greatest boxer ever, 100% KO ratio derp.

Jordan is considered the best basketball player ever because he was, plain and simple. The playoff numbers back him up. Kobe, Kareem, and Malone do not have better numbers when it mattered. Not to get off topic or anything.
