I hate that guy. He is a biotch.
It's not like Martinez would be some young spring chicken, and he may have some old school trick that could nullify Hopkins rough house tactics.

but he would be 47 years old. He should get some credit. Maybe not full, depending on how Martinez looks, but sergio himself has weighed between 165-170+ on fight night it's not that huge of a difference.

he's not but he is in his prime right now. Hopkins at age 36 was at his absolute prime as well, both were late bloomers.

Personally I'd much rather see a hopkins-bute fight though, IF hopkins gets past bad chad first.

I'd give BHOP some credit because it's easier to go up in weight compared to coming down. I don't know how much it would affect sergios speed though.

I think the Barker fight proved that Martinez is not a strong middleweight. So what would he be as a lhw?? Weak. Weak as hell. His punches would have no effect. I mean, even as a jmw he wasn't exactly knocking out guys left and right, was he? He has his share of kos but many came late in the fight and from accumulations. He has a good punch to the body. But except for the Williams ko, which was just the perfect punch landed at the right time, he never knocked out anyone with just one punch.

Ok, thats about the power. Now about the size and speed. While SGM would def be a tricky opponent for Bhop with his speed, ultimately he couldn't just waltz around him and he'd get dragged in into exchanges with Hopkins sooner or later and I believe Hopkins is still stronger than him there. So I say it would be a mismatch, plus nobody knows if Hopkins is taking anything illegal, he might be.

I'd prefer Hopkins/Froch! Froch wouldn't shy away from the trash talk either.

yes he would - he gets credit for beating pavlik at 170, so he would get even more credit for beating the guy who beat pavlik, sergio (margarito's son).

pavlik went up from 160 (back when he was still a natural middleweight with no weight issues - only rehydrating to 170) and fought hopkins, SO WHY CAN'T SERGIO?1 OH YEAH! I know why! He is a hoe-cake! I just wish his father, Antonio Margarito, could get a hold of his ass again to teach him his lessons as his son.
