oh hopkins would get a ton of credit from streetbully, natas206, and secondzout for beating martinez at a catchweight...to the point of nausea

it would be more credit than it deserves because you know the fight is going to be boring, dirty, and hopkins will not get a ko on a smaller man to boot...trust me they will be 25 pages deep with justification...lol

and of course no matter what hopkins does you'll never give him any credit so your point is invalid anyway.

martinez is too small for bhop, but not too small for guys like Abraham, Dirrell, and Ward... Froch and Kessler might be too big though

I don't know how this is even up for debate.

Of course Hopkins should get credit for beating Sergio at this juncture. Hopkins is so much older, and fought at MW himself for a long time. I don't think the size would factor in much at all. If so, only slightly in Bernard's favor.

Speed and reflexes would obviously be in Sergio's advantage.

I think this is an intriguing fight.

Let's see Bernard get past Chad Dawson.

If he does, he's gotta' start climbing in the all-time p4p lists.

The guy just won't go away.

It truly is incredible what he is doing at his age. Much respect.

You may not like him as a person, but you HAVE to admire his tenacity, and dedication to the sport.

          It is simply top-notch.

He'll get credit solely because of his age but I'm a little tired of Hopkins fighting Middleweight's and even Jr Middleweights at a catchweight of 170.

I'd much prefer him to fight Light Heavyweight's albeit it's a weak division but at the minimum I would prefer him to fight Super Middleweight's like Bute, Ward or Froch.

He would get much more creidt for fighting them than he would Martinez.

pavlik went up from 160 (back when he was still a natural middleweight with no weight issues - only rehydrating to 170) and fought hopkins, SO WHY CAN'T SERGIO?1 OH YEAH! I know why! He is a hoe-cake! I just wish his father, Antonio Margarito, could get a hold of his ass again to teach him his lessons as his son.

I actually though he was talking about going to Cruiser too.

Pavlik was 174 at fight night and hopkins 180. There was only a 6 pound difference. And Hopkins wasn't a full fledge light heavyweight yet like he is now.

In contrast Martinez, is now small middleweight.

Finally, Martinez is wiling to go down 10 pounds while Hopkins only 5. Martinez would have to go up 2 weight classes where he has never fought while Pac/May would only have to go up 1 weight classes where they have won belts.

That being said, I would still love to see Martinez vs Hopkins. If they can work something out, it would be awesome.
