    Is Toney-Byrd happening or not?

What's the deal. Why doesn't Byrd ever want to discuss this? He's scared of Toney. Let's make it happen.

I heard that Showtime bailed, or is thinking of bailing, after Byrd's last quote-unquote fight put the audience to sleep.

dont hold your breath. chris the duck byrd wants no part of james toney. and byrd's performance against TOS has practically stopped any discussion of a possible byrd/toney fight.

now, even the promoters are realizing just how bad chris the duck byrd really is.

...Toney/Wlad or Toney/Brewster would be a crowd pleaser. Tony/Byrd would be a one sided affair and a terrible fight to watch.

You have that backwards, James wants no part of Byrd. James may say that he wants him but I dont buy it at all. Byrd is EXACTLY the type of fighter that will give James fits. If the fighter is faster than james, he will have great difficulty. If the fighter will not come to James than he will have trouble. Add in the fact that Byrd is an elusive south paw and James is tied in knots.

If the big guys, HBO and every one dont want to see Byrd fight on their shows than that is their choice. But if they want one of their fighters to hold the belt that Byrd has possesion of than there is only one way to get it.

not sure if byrd's scared of anybody really. maybe a bit worried about the k bros having been whooped by them already and gotten lucky once with vk's injury. i do give credit to byrd for fighting some heavyweight monsters barring lennox lewis and mike tyson.

not so sure how he'd do against toney. toney is almost as crafty, but may hit a bit harder i'd say. would be an intersting fight, but could also be boring as hell especially if you like a lot of action and slugging.

why do u think i call him chris the duck byrd? if toney was gonna duck anyone, he wouldve ducked ruiz and understandably so. byrd tried everything he could to make sure that byrd/wlad II never happend. byrd openly refuses a rematch with vitali klitschko every time the subject pops up. the same with andrew golota. byrd wants no part of these guys.

byrds gonna take maybe 1 or 2 more fights and retire like a coward. hes gonna avoid toney like the plague.

i feel this is a good question - should toney's win over guinn entitle him to a title shot?

i think he should fight another boxer - preferably top 10.

why would Toney duck ruiz. The man comes to him throws some garbage and holds on. Ruiz is Taylor made for James, as James could counter punch before Ruiz grabs hold.

Byrd may be ducking the Klits and whoever else. And why wouldnt he, he is a small heavyweight. James is not a big heavyweight and does not pack anywhere close to the power that the giants do.

Byrd would frustrate and defeat Toney. Styles make the fight and James does not have the style to deal with Byrd.

ask the IBF. theyre the dumass who are in charge of title shots, who they frequently give to undeserving opponents.
